weapon reload times

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:06 am

while i really enjoy the plethora of available magazine types and the like for weapons, I instinctively thought that attaching the big drum mags and extended mags would slow the reload time a fair bit (it does, but not really enough for it to be noticeable). this coupled with already fast reloads sort of negate the taped mags (another idea I think is cool, but not the most practical as reloads are already so quick).

basically it seems the best strategy is to always take the biggest magazine for the weapon as the negative side effects aren't really noticeable enough that sticking with the standard or taped mags is a viable alternative.

to be fair I haven't even used taped mags as i haven't really needed to, but I imagine it would make the reloads pretty much instant as they're already very fast.

i'm interested in other player's thoughts on this. are other players typically finding the drum mags to be the obvious better choice?

Quick Question: How do you unlock more attachments for your gun? My copy of Brink arrives tomorrow and I'm a little curious.
Personally, I've always gone with larger mags in games because I feel a little more reload time is worth being able to take out all the enemies without reloading.

there's challenege modes you run through which unlock various things. some of them are pretty easy, some are pretty hard, but each one unlocks quite a bit of stuff. i believe there's 8 total

So you do not unlock stuff by leveling up?

That's the way you unlock parts for Appearance Customization, and skill points to spent buying Skills.

All my experiences with drum mags has been terrible. their is a substantial reload time with them and more than once i have been mowed down to the other guy reloading faster. i use taped mags on every gun and its still takes a little to get going again.

Maybe its just me but i feel the reload times were rather slow even with taped mags, I just unlocked the drum mag as i type this ima try it out, it seems that if im using an smg that it is a must have because the gun burns through the clip so fast.
