Hello there,I bet it's been over two years since I've bounced into these forums. This was my favourite game for quite awhile, after playing through several times I thought recently of starting it back up after several years of it sitting quite waiting for the stars to be right again.Glad to see familiar names still around in here (mortician and Ray).Just want to say it an awesome game, totally under the radar gem that didn't get all the recognition it deserved. Kudos to all who worked on it.Now, as a total Lovecraft fan I finally picked up the Arkham Horror board game and got me thinking, is Cthulhu a/o Lovecraft still alive for PC/Video gaming? Will somebody come along and try again? I certaintly hope so (and I hope they don't meet the same demise as Destiny's End)Thanks,

Very few Cthulhian games are lurking in the dark corners of our Earth that I know of.You might wish to give the "Robert D. Anderson & The Legacy of Cthulhu" game and its upcoming sequel a chance.I have not tried it myself, for which I blame the poor availabilty of odder games in this silly nation.If you can bear adventure games of ye good old times, try out "Sherlock Holmes - The Awakened", in which good mister Holmes matches his wits against the Cthulhian cult.And I'm afraid that lists all the games I know of.Or remember currently at least, my mind travels in different streams of time, it's hard focusing sometimes.

I am replaying the game for the 6th or 7th time since I first played it when it was released and this is definitely one of the BEST GAMES EVER!I can?t believe this wasn?t game of the year when it came out, not that it suprises me but it?s so unfair I just want to kill something if you know what I mean.My biggest thanks to the people who made it.

There's Loath Nolder, a cthulhu-inspired myst-type game. But I don't think there's anything really mainstream.I've no doubt that Cthulhu games will come and go, bubbling under the surface of the industry and surfacing occasionally. Unfortunately, we're just in a bit of a dead spot atm.The Chzo mythos (by Yahtzee) is good, too, if you're desperate for mythos-ish plots.

"Penumbra" heavily borrows from HPL, although the later sequels move into a different direction.

You should look into the older Cthulhu adventure-games as well. I believe that many can be downloaded legally for free, if you look for them. I can remember two of these titles, but I'm convinced there's at least one more:Prisoner of Ice (brilliant game).Shadow of the Comet (decent game).Also, take a stab at "Necronomicon" - its a point and click adventure, which can be generally be bought very cheaply. Its design is mostly rubbish, but the atmosphere, music and storyline is great! It is based on The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.In my honest opinion, Robert D. Anderson and the Legacy of Cthulhu is quite tame. I've played it for 30 minutes, but so far it seems like a Wolfenstein-clone with worse graphics.

much appreciated , thnksI have to say I personally thought bioshock picked up the torch in some respects, even though not Lovecraftian it had a familiar feel. RE5 is seemingly moving slightly away from the horror to a more military theme, but still always a good fix. Deadspace was enjoyable as a kind of necromancing version of the the thing IMO.

Don't forget daugher of serpents and the first alone in the dark.

I don't know about Cthulhu games for the CPU, but I know I still have my "Mythos" cards, from the Collectible Card Game. (I was one of the Beta testers, in Sacramento, with the crew @ Even Better Comics.)I also have the 1st Ed. "Call Of Cthulhu" RPG Rulebook, as well as 2 Adventure Modules.I was introduced into the realm of Cthulhu & Co. in 1996.I have been a fanatic ever since.Old Cthulhu had a farm.....Ia! Ia!
