Has any one who bought and downloaded HUNTED through the digital distributor Impulse (stardock) been able to get LAN or ONLINE (either match type) to work? If so, what did you do to get it to work?
Here is the original post on what we've tried to get the game to work http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1198044-has-anyone-gotten-lan-to-work/page__pid__17876589#entry17876589
the TLDR; version:
We bought two copies of the game through IMPULSE (stardock) via two different accounts and installed on two different computers. we have exhausted every option that we know of to get the games LAN and ONLINE (both standard and private match) to work.
When trying to join a LAN game the LAN list shows up as empty and the person hosting is in a state of perpetual 'waiting for player to join'.
When trying to use ONLINE (standard) the player is stuck on the looking for game window (we've waited as long as an hour)
When trying to use ONLINE (private match) the person reciving the invite is sent to a black loading screen (with the tips and hints for game play at the bottom) for around 2 min. at which time the connection to partner fails and you are sent back to the private match/friend invite screen.
The person SENDING the invite for private match is never sent into any form of loading screen. after sending the invite from the friends list/private match screen nothing happens. they sit at that screen with no notification of invite being accepted or rejected. there is ZERO activity.
What we've tried to get LAN and ONLINE to work:
(All steps were tried with me hosting him joining and then again with him hosting and me joining, all steps also (if applicable) were tested against both ONLINE match ups)
Port forwarding (ALL ports listed in the .INI, on game spy site, and then just all known ports)
Fire wall on with exceptions (both windows 7 built in and our routers)
Fire wall completely off (same as above)
Cross over cable for direct PC to PC connections (with fire wall exceptions and then again with fire wall off)
Multi Casting on the router (so it acts as a hub)
We have run a program called 'Wire Shark' to catch any port activity on our network. the only port that HUNTED shows any activity on is port 6777, it only shows this activity for the computer trying to JOIN a LAN game.
I've sent in a support ticket it Inxile (was sent on Thursday) we bought the game on the 2nd and have been unable to make CO OP work since then.
there have been zero communication attempts made by either the publisher Bethesda or the developer Inxile to us about this issue.
We are unable to return this game to Impulse unless the publisher OKs the return (this was a request made by Impulse through email after we requested information on returning the game)
