Wait, what?
You're complaining about a game with four different difficulty settings being too hard for you? Have you tried playing it on easy? I haven't but it takes some effort to get killed on Hard and Nightmare. I don't have a personal example on hand, but if you've ever watched Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter's RAGE QUIT series, on YouTube, you'll know that the dude plays a game on its hardest difficulty setting when it ain't multiplayer, and generally goes at it 'til he gets so angry he, uh, Rage Quits. Go to YouTube and search for "RAGE QUIT - RAGE". Watch as the mutants and Ghost clan members hammer away at him while he mockingly remains cheery in the face of it, refusing to Rage because the game is called RAGE, so he doesn't actually Rage Quit. At one point he is pretending to talk to the Ghost clan members, asking for directions or something as they carve into him to no effect... anyhoo go watch it, and ask yourself... you, find this too hard?

The only times I had trouble were - on my first go - rushing against the Shrouded and finding myself getting trounced by the heavily armoured Shrouded dudes toting miniguns. After the defib, I took it as a was a lesson in slowing down a bit. lol And also against the Authority Mutants in Capital Prime when I first encountered them. This was on my first go. A second run-through nothing could touch me, even when I severely limited my own weapons and ammo types. So no Dyno-Bolts or Pop-rockets that aren't rare and that you can create to your heart's content to make all of RAGE a matter of looking at stuff and pressing a button to watch whatever it is become giblets.
Play around with the ammo a bit and experiment with the ammo and deployable creation options. Check out the alt-ammo types on all weapons and lower the difficulty to easy. Do this before you consider returning it. If you already *are* on easy... then meh, exchange RAGE for The Sims 3?
