Is anyone else having a problem with spellcheck?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 1:37 am

If your read some of my most recent posts, including this one, you've likley noticed several mispelt words. This is becuase of the spellcheck not appearing when I go to post. Is anyone else having this problem?

I could have also found a few more threads where I posted similar things....

I've never experienced this spellcheck thing before. I use Firefox and I've heard some people mention it from time to time, but I can't seem to enable it.. I have a box in the options that is ticket that says "enable spellcheck" or something, but it doesn't do anything.

I would just like to get this clarified as I've been wondering about this feature for some time.

I was having issues a while back. I complained in the "http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1320372-report-update-issues-here-dec2011/page__view__findpost__p__20369587" (Post 158-166) thread, and it started working shortly after.

Odd huh? Maybe now that you have mentioned it, it will magically work for you to.

Spellcheck works for me in Firefox in both the quick reply and regular post editor. Maybe you have an older version or a different browser that doesn't support it?

I don't use spell check. If I'm uncertain how to spell I word, I just type how I think it's spelt into google.

Yeah, spelt is spelled, "spelled".

I'm just messing with ya ;p.

I don't trust spellcheck >_>. Some of the words it checks, looks misspelled too LOL. But it checks when I use quick reply and "More Reply Options".

I never used the forums spellcheck, if there's a word I need to look up I just use my Microsoft Office's spellcheck.

The forum doesn't have a spellcheck (as far as I know), it's built into your web browser. I don't think Microsoft Office would be any more or less accurate, they probably use the same spellcheck method anyway.

Mines works all the time on my home laptop, on my work one however it doesn't exist unless I'm using MS Word.

Ms Office usually get's it close enough, however there has been times I've use the Thesaurus (Shift+F7) to find the word I'm looking for and if that doesn't work I use a different word that has the same meaning.
