Co-OP Games other than Rage

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 9:58 am

Hey everyone,
We love playing Rage in the co-op mode. Can anyone kindly recommend xbox games that play as good as Rage in Co-Op mode? Always like playing through a game with a friend, but not with an army of game controlled help.

The Co-Op mode of Rage is addictive. We want more!
waiting for Rage 2 or Doom 4.

Thanks.

Borderlands is a good choice, and with Borderlands 2 coming out in Sept (with all luck), it's a good time to try it.

So the Gears of War series would not be the right choice as you sometimes have some NPCs fighting next to you ?

Otherwise i would recommend those. Especially Gears 2 which is a total blast in coop over Xbox live or LAN.
GEars 3 is running on dedicated servers which means NO LAG no matter how far you and your partner are away from each other.

Or you could try Resident Evil 5 which is also great for coop through the whole of the game.
If you can adjust to the mediocre Resident Evil oldschool game controls in an action oriented shooter...

Thanks all. Just finished Rage "A New Toy". A satisfying end, but want more. Dead Rising 2 looks like fun and a laugh. I'll check out Borderlands, even though the graphics are tweaked different than Rage. The Resident Evil and Gears is a good tip.

Also thinking of F.E.A.R. 3. It looks comparable to the 1st person and team perspective of Rage.

FEAR 3 had awesome coop modes, highly original & great fun.
F*****G RUN was simply brilliant - enemies coming at you, giant wall of death advancing behind you - wicked!

Unfortunately, this title wasn't popular & I could rarely, if ever, find partners to play with. Recently uninstalled for that reason. I caution a buy unless on sale. There was a group on Steam, not sure how active. - great 1st person campaign too.

Left For Dead 1 & 2 remain the pinnacle of coop shooters in recent times, with out doubt. Ground breaking. Always entertaining.

Left for dead 1 and 2 are the best co-op games ever made.

Completely agree. Love Killing FLoor, 400+ hours now. Always games to be found, very active community and there are plenty of maps and mods. Developers still do stuff with the game 2 years after release too, so that is a massive bonus. Though I do like Left 4 Dead 2, I find Killing Floor much more satisfying.

However I believe that it is only available on PC, so this will no help your XBox issue... I believe Doom 3 could b e played Coop, and that was pretty fun. Afraid i don't really know of any others...

Army of Two, the first one not the second is one of the best two player co-op games I've played. It makes you work as a team instead of running and gunning on your own with a friend doing the same. Another game is Splinter Cell conviction although neither of these titles are like rage in terms of genre. They are both challenging and fun. For close story and plot I agree borderlands is your best bet. Also the graphics are actually quite cool once you start playing the game. The videos online don't really do the game justice for some reason.

I'll agree, I will state that originally watching borderlands I was disgusted, but people kept telling me to try it out, so thanks to OnLive I got to try it free, and yes once you're in-game the art style looks rather great, and I mean great not good. At least that was my experience.

Battlefield 3 has some fun co-op. My friend and I played through all but 2 on Hard last night. As already stated, Borderlands is an epic game.

Another for Borderlands, completely different but Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light is great co-op even if you dislike the Tomb Raider series.

Well, I'll recomend you Gears Of War 3, you just have to have 4 friends and you'll have lots of fun for sure... ( 4 friends if you don't want to play with computer ( NPC ) )
Splinter cell conviction and the previous ones have awesome co-op too. Fear 3 is good, as it was said... and of course Red Dead Redemption :P
