A primary complaint about Brink is that there isn't enough variety with the gamemodes. Each map has its own gamemode and you can't choose a different one for that map. Even though the game is still fun and I love it, I have to admit that this repetition makes it a little boring. The gamemodes for Brink are;
Human Escort: You rescue then escort a person to the end of a level.
Robot Escort: You escort a robot to the end of the level.
Retrieval: You go retrieve an item and take it to the destination.
Hack: Hack a final computer that takes longer than other hacks
Destroy: Plant a charge on and destroy a final objective.
Team deathmatch should be added to the game, even though the developers said they didn't want to reward players much for killing. In TDM they should also keep the command posts.
An example for varied gamemodes in a map could be in Container City.
The normal mode, Robot Escort, could be called "Map Specific: Robot Escort" or something.
Human Escort: Escort maybe 3 people from a point near the Resistance spawn to the gate that you destroy in robot escort, one at a time. 2 must be rescued to win, the third is an extra if there's enough time.
Retrieval: The two teams fight to take some duffel bags to their own spawn point. The duffel bags can maybe spawn in the trench where the robot is moved by the magnet crane in robot escort or change spawns. Carriers can only use secondaries.
Hack: There are 3 hack points on the map and teams have to escort their spies to these points to control them. Works like Battlefield or Domination from COD.
Destroy: One team is destroying buildings in the Container City and the other team has to stop them. Teams can possibly switch halfway through.
TDM: Basic TDM. Command posts still exist, time between spawns is shorter, and if a medic doesn't get to you before the spawn, you respawn automatically. Very easy to die when downed.
