Computer Question

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 5:53 am

Everytime i try to download a file from the internet a pop up shows and says the idm is past free trial period and asks for a registration number and all that. So then i try to go and download a free idm and the same pop up comes so i can't do that either, what needs to be done? I didn't buy a idm or anything like that so i don't know why its asking for a registration key.

Uninstall the Internet Download Manager? IDM has a 30 day trial, after which you must purchase it. Modern Internet browsers don't need a third party download manager, even IE9 (maybe even IE7/8) has a download manager build in.

Just IE9. IE8 and 7 are still manager-less.

Anyway, agreed: uninstall Internet Download Manager. Unless using IE6/7/8, you don't need it. If using IE6/7/8 do yourself a favor and use a better browser.

Just click on "Help" (around the top left) then click on "about Internet Explorer" at the bottom of the menu and a little window will pop up telling you the version, amongst other things.
