Thought this might be fun, especially considering the multinational make up of this forum.

What are some everyday or not-so everyday phrases you hear people use that if taken literally do not make sense.

Something like this.

"I am not learning about [censored] in my [blank] class!" -Fill in the [blank] with anything from Physics to Art. It is supposed to mean that they are learning nothing from the class. Taken literally it means, they are not learning about feces in the class they are taking.
