If you do not have a HDTV and have to play Rage on a standard definition tv (SDTV) like me in my bedroom along with composite cables, the game will not play in 16:9 widescreen mode. As soon as you launch the game it forces 4:3 aspect ratio. I am playing the pal version and because it's forcing 4:3 aspect ratio the graphics look pretty terrible. You can tell it's forcing 4:3 aspect ration because if you hit the controller button to bring up your PS3 XMB menu you will see it's displayed in 4:3 as the letters are all huge.As soon as you quit the game it reverts to 16:9 mode. This is a pretty big deal to people who have to play in standard definition as it makes the game look pretty awful when you can't play in 16:9 aspect ratio. It cuts off some of the screen, black borders are huge and aliasing is more noticeable. Can this information be passed onto the appropriate department as it can be patched. This same problem was in the God of war 3 demo in Europe, but was fixed for the final version. Thanks for your time.
I know people will say stop being so poor and get a HDTV, well that's not the problem here, this game needs a patch to allow it to run in 16:9 wide screen mode on standard definition tv's, alot of people still game on SDTV's
