Multiplayer Unplayable

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 2:15 am

I tried Road Rage for a bit, and thought it was pretty fun for what it is. But my car gets hit and rolled over when it looks like I haven't been hit at all, rockets miss due to large delays, and quick use items take ages to register being activated.

The Wasteland Legends is even worse, when I host, it sits there trying to load for at least a few minutes and then my co-op partner automatically disconnects, every time.

When I join someone else's game, enemies are freezing in place, then they catch up and have already hit me without me being able to see their jump animation and kills register 10 seconds or so after firing (especially noticeable with the assault rifle).

I'm playing on a 10mbit connection, DMZ to the ps3 with a static ip and it's for all intents and purposes unplayable.

Please fix this mess.

RAGE seems like a gap filler before Skyrim, knowing Bethesda and their bug fixing capabilities they won't do anything for months.

Update:

I managed to have a game of Wasteland Legends, everything was going fine (not very laggy, quite smooth), but before I could get to the third arena on Season 1: Pilot, my co-op partner was disconnected from me.

So far the only one I've completed is the first one, and that was in split screen. Haven't been able to complete one online yet :(.

I haven't had any problems with lag online. But I don't play with random people and I don't have anyone in my friends list that has a slow internet connection or lives so far away that the distance would cause lag.
I usually play on the weekends and have fast internet.
add me on PSN and I will do the legends with you provided you have a mic. I have done them all on normal but haven't done them all on Nightmare yet.

there shouldn't be any lag provided you also have a good internet and are not terribly far away geographically. But I have some friends in other country's that I play with with no lag so the only way to know is to play and find out.

Your internet is likely not the problem. there seem to be people who think they can play online games with the bare minimum internet and that just isn't the case. if they are hosting it doesn't matter how good your internet is the bottle neck is on there end.

It's not so much the lag that affects me, it's my partner being disconnected from me after a seemingly good connection.

There's something wrong with the way it connects two people together, and even if I added you, I would have the same problem and not be able to complete any Legends.

So until they fix this, I am not going to play any Legends, thanks for your offer, but I must decline.

could be you just find people you like to quit in the middle of a game. I have never had this problem. Its ok if you don't want to play with me but If any one else is having this problem I would hope they say so.
just so we can rule out any local problem. I don't think its a problem with the game.

I've had only minor lag and it's only on rare occasions that it happens.

Worst seems to be a glitch in Wasteland Legends 'Grab and Go' co-op with the elevator trapping people in upstairs and they get dropped or quit. I think this is a glitch NOT caused by lag but a definite bug in the game. People drop after they can't move forward.

Managed to get through Season 1: Pilot the other day :D. Looks like it's working again.

Although the game crashes when I quick join a game where I haven't unlocked the mission.

Still getting disconnected when hosting a Wasteland Legends game or when joining one.

The load times are beyond ridiculous.

Can't believe that between id software and Bethesda they can't even manage 2 players in co-op, yet other games manage around 16 players.

Such a sad state this industry is in.
