trophey glitched !

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 4:02 pm

hi,
i've got a trophey whicjh is glitched: "obsessive compulsive".
i've done EVERYTHING, including quests and stuff which are NOT required to get this trophey. i found out on the net what is the problem: the "sentry turret" is sold a second time (!!!) in wellspring after you buy version 2.0..... i mean i have 100% of the schematics, but there's one which is glitched and is not counted as bought, despite with "100% of schematics found" written in your stats....
i've tried some tips given on the net (Delete your game data (in game data folder)
- Load up RAGE and decline the update/patch
- Install RAGEs data
- Quit back to XMB once you reach the menu
- Load Rage back up then download the patch)
but nothing works ! i'm stuck at 129 in last mission despite i have done everything...please help me, i need this last trophey to get platinum... i don't want to have to spend 20 more hours on a 3rd play in order to avoid a glitch which may happen anyway with a 3rd playthrought...what do i have to do ?!
thanks !

Most of the information on the internet concerning how to get obsessive compulsive is inaccurate or wrong.
As far as i'm concerned, getting obsessive compulsive is not glitched but the info on the net svcks.
I had a similar problem getting obsessive compulsive in the 360 version due to wrong info i had.

It's highly likely that what you describe is not the reason for you not getting the trophy!

Look at your ingame stats and search for anything that isn't fully explored BEFORE entering the last mission including minigames and fieldgoals which area also necessary to get the trophy/achievement.
If schematics show 100% than you missed something else.

Did you buy the original sentry turrent schematic BEFORE you bought the advanced one? Because if you bought it after then it'll cause the stats to glitch.

yes i did, and i've got 19/19 recipes (100%) and the related trophey popped up normally. i've done everything, every mission (even those said not-to-be-requiered). i've used a list on which i was making a cross on every task when done, so i couldn't forget anything...
no, really, it's a glitch ! i've mailed betheasda, they told me this glitch was known, but that they can't do nothing for now about that...!!!!!!!!!!

i swear i have done everything possible: all missions, all races, 3 goals, all recipes, all cards, all mini-games won. i have a guide book, so i know every task i have to do, and i used a list on which i made a cross after every task done...
my multi tropheys were all glitched too, but popped up after erasing and reinstalling game datas. all glitched tropheys but "obsessive" trophey...
oh and i've checked, the sentry turrent recipe has gone back after i bought 2.0. i'm sure i've had bought it because i am written 19/19 100% reciped in my stats... if i had forgotten to buy it before 2.0, it wouldn't be written 19/19, would it ?

I can't really tell if that trophy is glitched on PS3 but the obsessive compulsive on Xbox 360 is definitely not.

As far as i remember, the enhanced recipe for the sentry turret will swap with the one before. Same with the recipes for the bot and the advanced version.
And all of your sentry turrets or bots you have already built will automatically turn into the new version when you own the new recipe.

If you have 19/19 recipes, look elsewehere. I got mousetrapped in the same situation assuming a task was glitched when in reality i missed something else.
Does everything in your stats show full completion ?

Some possibilities to check: All the vehicle jumps to knock down the probes or ALL races including the one against Starkey in Wellspring to get the new bumper?

And don't rely to much on your guide book. Might be wrong.
I replayed Rage without external help just taking a closer look at everything there was and it worked! Move around and try to explore any possible location and situation.
This takes time but it worked for me.

Btw.: Do you own the anarchy or the standard version? I heard that both versions differ in 1 obtainable point. I own the anarchy edition.

i owe the anarchy edition. you know, guide books are often accured and trustful. even if they don't mention 100% of what could be told about a game, for ex because of the DLC, this one even includes a help for the SEWER DLC. anyway i always complete guide informations with what i can find on the net.
as you can imagine, i'm "working" with lots of good sites about video games, and most of all tropheys ! they all agree on what is needed for this trophey.
look by yourself: i'm SURE (written in my stats or on the list i've been using while playing) i've got or done:
*54 cards
*18 jumps
*19 schematics
*3 "goals"
* fully won at least one time mini-games:
-windsticks (3-4 times, to be sure)
-knife-fingers
-cards
-"tombstones" (with a man shooting up to 3 waves of bandits)
-banjo
*all races (i got the trophey, which i was missing) including starky's
*all jobs on the board (9) + chemical factory (Dietrich)+ Richard in the bar of wellsprings + sally in the bar of wellsprings + the same mission for the guy in the bar of subwaytown)
*i even finished quests that were mentionned NOT to count, like the guy in wellsprings who gives you a new "heart" for 20 fildrit crystals. the only thing i didn't finish are the SEWERS missions: i've done them all ONCE but not the 2nd time when they appear on the job board.

so, can you see i'm missing something ? i honestly don't think so... not that i couldn't make mistake, but i followed a list on which i wrote everything i was doing/finding.
moreover after i've read about the schematic bug, i went back to wellsprings and saw this fu**in schematic to sell again, althought i'm sure i bought it sooner. and this bug is much mentionned everywhere on the net, so.....
for now i'm trying to convince AMAZON that there's a problem with the game and that i need another copy, because of the warrancy. but i would be more than grateful if someone by here could give me a tip which would allow me to get this glitched trophey (a,d the platinum, as it's my last trophey before i get platinum !)
cheers & thx

I've also done the sewer missions a second time. In fact i rechecked the job boards in both towns frequently until i permanently got the red crossed mouse symbol.
Just try them again. Not that much work. Might help.

Stupid question:

You say the schematic reappeared after you have bought it. Have you tried to buy it again?
Try it and look at your stats before and after.

hi, sorry for the late answer, but i didn't see that you answered, sorry !

ok i'll try ti do SEWER missions too, won't hurt i guess, even if i don't believe it will change something.

fot the schematic: yes i have tried to buy it, but i can't as i have bought version 2.0, game doesn't let you buy 1.0 after that. i have about 5 saves of my current game, but none before i buy 2.0...

i've tried every tip i found on the net, but nothing helps (but it did for some other RAGE's glitched tropheys, like those in coop). i'm gonna ask amazon to make an exchange (warranty) as the game is FUC*** BUGGED.
bethesda told me it would change nothing, but i don't see why it wouldn't: it's a glitch which doesn't affect every player, right ? so i don't see why some players have problems and others not, for me it might be a problem with the support: so i'll try my luck by changing it, to see if it goes better for me or not.
and if it doesn't at least it'll be a copy sent back to bethesda; there should be much more, so maybe they would understand that we are fed up with their games infested with bugs and glitches !! they do make great games, but every bethesda's game is fuc*** bugged & glitched !!
i have never had such problems with any game in 25 years of playing !

Remember: I did EVERYTHING the game had to offer: every task, every minigame and every mission until the game showed me 130/130 points.
The last point i got was at the jump right before the last mission in Capital prime.

I'm still convinced that this is not the problem. Look somewhere else. If the game prevents you from buying 1.0 after you've already bought 2.0 that would be correct. And if your stats show 19/19 recipes this would be correct too.
The game also awards points for missions and other stuff that is not listed in the stats for example the mission before Capital prime where you have to deactivate the shields which should give you 2 points.

i've tried every tip i found on the net, but nothing helps (but it did for some other RAGE's glitched tropheys, like those in coop). i'm gonna ask amazon to make an exchange (warranty) as the game is FUC*** BUGGED.
I've seen games much worse...
And i doubt Amazon will make an exchange for a minor bug as it doesn't really affect gameplay or prevents you from playing it at all.
Bugs (if it is a bug) like these can be annoying as they prevent you from being rewarded for your skills but they can't be considered serious.
Wolfenstein for example had a serious crash bug that froze the game closely to the end of the story mode. That would be a reason for an exchange.

bethesda told me it would change nothing, but i don't see why it wouldn't: it's a glitch which doesn't affect every player, right ? so i don't see why some players have problems and others not, for me it might be a problem with the support: so i'll try my luck by changing it, to see if it goes better for me or not.

Got a point there.
No hard feelings Bethesda, but your QA lacks improvement.
Even the old Terminator Dos games in the 90s where seriously buggy and that gives the impression that you just don't give stable code execution as much attention as other game companies.
Again: No hard feelings but there's definitely room for improvement.

I hope i don't get banned for this...

If you skip getting the first sentry turret and then buy the second one first it'll say you have 19/19 anyways. I didn't have any trophies glitch on me in any way though so I don't know.

Right but Wolfenstein was the first ID game in history that had serious bug problems and Wolfenstein was the first game that was released after ID has been bought by Zenimax.
I'm sure that ID doesn't have as much control over the developing/distribution process as before.
It is reasonable to assume that somebody else now has the final word on how things get released.

Releasing a game "when it's done" doesn't work with a big publisher that's interested in gaining profit.

Wolfenstien wasn't even made by ID though. It was made by Raven and Activision using ID's engine. ID only had a small role in it, mainly engine support.

I didn't have any trophies glitch, weird. I know some people have but its odd that some do and some don't. I platinumed in one playthrough following the obsessive compulsive guide from ps3trophies.org and the wiki walkthroughs and not a single one glitched. Just find it weird that some people would have issues. Anyways, hopefully you can get it figured out since I'm not sure what you can do from here.

yeah you may be right. i'll just try to do the only thing i haven't done: SEWER missions for a 2nd time (all done 1 time). but i don't think it'd change, as i haven't reinstalled this DLC after i have done it for game datas... so if the problem were from this point, it should have been resolved after reinstallation without this DLC, right ?
anyway if amazon doesn't change my copy, i'll try a last time to replay it in easy mode (nightmare mode is too hard for the mini-games and the races, to me... that's why i played the game another time in easy mode, because i just wasn't able to succeed in last races and in some missions on the board, like the sniper missions...)
cheers !

Right but you name it yourself: Wolfenstein is running on ID's technology and that's what makes it buggy or not.

@23bixente23:

In fact i played through Rage 5 times. I got the obsessive compulsive playing on "hard". I also played through nightmare mode completely but didn't do all tasks as i had done so before on my other playthroughs.

But you might want to try getting the achievement or trophy on "normal" difficulty as some games prevent you from gaining them at easy difficulty levels.
I don't know if that is the case with Rage but i wouldn't take a risk.

yeah you're absolutely correct, and i was thinking of that before you tell me. indeed there might be a glitch due to that. i'll do a last game in "normal" or even "difficult" maybe, not "easy".
for now i'm stuck on "kingdom of amalur: reckoning", with over 70h of game in 8 days... haven't been that stuck behind a game for a long time ! after i finish it i'll retry a RAGE game.... til then my anger should have gone, and i'll be able to replay it in better conditions than being simply forced because of a glitch... ;-)
thx for your help anyway, really ! cheers
