YES! I would love a third person option. I ended up playing almost all of Skyrim in third person. It helps in melee combat to see your surroundings

There is already a thread on this subject, in any case. All the cool, intelligent, good-looking people agreed that First Person is the way to go.

I'll toss in my support for 3rd person, as well. The whole concept behind the game looks cool, but I'll admit the 1st person-only is a bit of a turn-off (ironically, I tend to find 1st person a less immersive experience).

There's at least one 3rd person assassin game released every single year. Play one of those!

This game was made by a first person developer and designed from the ground up to be a first person game. Shoehorning a third person mode wouldn't do anyone any good.

We don't go onto the Mario forums and complain that there are too many 3rd person platformers, and say that Mario should at least have a first person option. That's how these threads come off to fans of this style of game.
It wasn't designed for it, it shouldn't have it, and yes, that does mean it isn't for everyone -- and that's OK.

its first person, no matter how many of you want it in third person, its still gonna be first person, they've been developing this for years, and they're not gonna change the WHOLE game mechanics to suit a dozen players

I'm silly and ugly, and even I agree with this statement!

Honestly though I don't see why third-person view would be preferrable over first-person for this game. Although, I can see how, many people prefer a third-person person perspective for stealth-based games I'd rather they stick with first-person view for purely aesthetical reasons.

Haha no I don't THINK so! I allready have these AWESOME 3rdp games; BOTH Arkhams, Splinter Cell, Dark Sector, Mass Effect123, Uncharted, Diablo2(3), Titans Quest and Jedi Academy.

Besides, Dark Messiah, Mirror's Edge and Crysis are sacred and superior proofs that fps is perfect for melee fights, stealth and parkour.

It doesn't NEED anything if it delivers it's promises(apart from the story). This isn't a Bethesda game. Stop trying to make it into a Skyrim Assassin's Creed. A game like this works in First Person. That is a fact.

Yes, we have enough FPS. But but on the flip side nearly every games with stealth/assassination is TPS.

With hitman, ac, splinter cell, dx3, thi4f(lol) all having 3rd person...I'd say this is more refreshing.

No. Arkane has consistenly made fp games.
To deviate from their current design strategy does not make sense.

Plus, there is a reason why third person camera was a cheat code in Deus Ex, because you could see around corners and were given an unfair advantage.
Keep the stealth in stealth gaming.
