Just an idea I had...wouldn't it be cool to make your own mods? like on a work bench? similar to weapon mod kits for FO3. Just have the parts and weapon on you, acquire the recipe, etc.

This would -certainly- be significantly easier, now that weapon mod kits are ACTUALLY a functional system within the game.

I'm pretty sure someone out there is working on this by now... but on the off chance that nobody is, it's good to see that someone has at least THOUGHT it up. I would definitely support/endorse such a mod.

I've started working on this. Got all the schematics set up, one for each modifiable weapon that gives access to all mods. Just need to make all the recipes now, and spread the schematics around. If anyone can give me ideas for the recipe ingredients, that would really help. Currently, I have 10mm pistol extended mags for 2 scrap metal and 25 10mm bullets, and a 10mm laser sight for 1 scrap metal, 1 scrap electronics, and 1 shot glass

Pardon my ignorance, but how do bullets make up an extended mag? I'm a bit puzzled on the shot glass too.

The bullets are part size comparision kinda stuff, part attempt at balancing because pure scrap metal seems too cheap for it. If you have any better ideas, that would be really useful. As for the shot glass, that's taking a bit of the glass itself to help focus the beam

I'm always for more crafting recipes, that seems way too cheap. If I were you I'd think about saluaging parts from more weapons to make the mods and including things like chemical baths and tools, maybe weapon repair kits, etc. Not TOO complicated, but you shouldn't be able to loot one garage and come out with ten mods either.

Well, I don't exactly want to add a bunch of proprietary items, especially when they may sort-of-conflict with other mods, where you have two different recipes to break a weapon down into two different versions of the same parts. This is also only the 10mm pistol, a pretty low level gun, as far as I know. And I'm planning on having the schematics themselves either be fairly expensive, somewhere around 10 times to combined values of the kits it let's you make probably, or in areas you need pretty high skills to get to. The 10mm kits already require a repair skill of 75 to make, and it's probably just going to get higher for other weapons
