Offering audio assistance for modders

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:29 am

I am extremely passionate about audio...It's my life, I am an Audio Engineer and the economy over here has somewhat limited my customer base lately and I would love to get back to doing some more projects. So I want to offer my assistance. What I mean by this is, I can do pretty much anything with audio, alter it any which way. So if anyone was doing some mods where they need some audio fixed up, cleaned up, altered, whatever, you name it. I could offer to help. I have over $20,000 worth of professional grade audio gear and equipment of the like. I have been doing this for about 9 years now.

i.e. If some one had some audio files of weapon sounds and did not like them, you could give me a copy of the raw files and give me a description of what you were looking for and I can do that for you. My brother also has access to a lot of different fire arms so I might be able to go as far as to get a visitors pass to his place of employment and hopefully maybe do some Foley work! (fingers crossed).

This is a passion of mine, so I'm not going to charge people, all that I would ask is to give credit where credit is due.

If this interests anyone or if anyone has any questions, just ask! :fallout:

Thank you for your time.

Your offer definitely deserves a bump. And if your offer is not taken by anyone, then you might want to repeat it once the modding community settle a bit and bigger mods will start to be made.

If you happen to have a way - - now that I think about it, I could use the sound of a Hummer's engine running while you are sitting inside of it, and, the sound of a hummer's engine starting (same, while inside of it). I don't have any base sounds to start with though (as in, I don't have access to a Hummer's interior). It's for a mod which is being made for Fallout 3 (but maybe could be ported to NV some day).

I would want the sound to be genuine to a hummer, though. Just any old ford truck kinda won't do.

Thing about sound work is, it's real specific. Many mods have no need, but those which do, have a desperate need.

NV modding is a little young to have need of great sound work, I think.

You mean like a "modern day" Hummer? or an old school "ARMY" Hummer?

Personally, I think it wise to consider that most vehicles in the Fallout universe use electrical power. The exception would be a few Diesel vehicles which existed well into 2077, and the Chryslus Motors line of Nuclear-Battery engines.

I wouldn't dare suggest what the original modder wants... but it couldn't hurt to offer that small reminder!

I'll get you a nice beefy one, so you want one of the engine idling outside and one on the engine idling while inside the car? It's about my bed time so I'll see what I can get tomorrow.. check back

Just inside. And ideally, the sound of the Hummer's engine starting while you're sitting in there.

Here you go dude, I got something for you, two actually, They are both the same file, but one is the sound of the vehicle starting and idling in the open world and the other is in a parking garage, if you should need that.

If you don't like it or want something different, don't be afraid to tell me, also, the more information I have, the better. Here's a http://www.mediafire.com/?jqtgu716m44r2

Well, I downloaded them, I think these can be made to work fine for what I need. Thanks! When I am back working on the hummer I'll be sure to do the right credits for the sound, etc.
