1. The AI. It is pretty annoying. Others might say otherwise, and you'll probably tell me to st*u and go play online, but regardless, the AI is just plain stupid (besides the medics). I felt like a one man team the entirety of both campaigns, never being able to rely on any of the bots to repair or hack anything. Many, many failed missions later I had to just take on every role that the primary objective needed. I even put up ridiculous defense (i.e. killing 6+ at a time spawn after spawn) on some missions as soldier and my teammates never came through, totally frustrating.
2. Machine guns. They are absolutely awful. I get why they don't want them to be very powerful, probably because they have unlimited ammo, but wow beyond 10 feet they can't hit the broad side of a barn? Really? I even tried using burst fire and they can't hit crap. I actually felt more vulnerable using a machine gun than I did standing still with my SMG, because I atleast knew I'd be doing damage.
3. Turrets. They are totally awful. I read another thread on this as well, but man, engineers feel really lame because of them. I played a few missions as an engineer and half the time my turret would never fire at enemies, even if they were standing in the field of vision. How can the turrets be so stupid? Put like an ammo meter on them or make them overheat after a while, or something, but please make them actually respond faster, it's SO easy to just bypass them. In one mission the enemy had two turrets staggered (like 20 feet apart) in a corridor. I came in, looked around and saw the first, went up behind it and melee'd it (yes this took about 10-12 seconds to kill it), all the while the 2nd turret wasn't even doing anything despite me being in it's field of view and range, and then I took out the second one, neither having offered any resistance to my attacks.
4. Gameplay Feel. I love it, the games feels really polished and well done, besides getting snagged on some random junk (like some of the cargo on the conveyor belts on the mission to hack/defend the main frame grid) it's awesome.
5. Roles. They are really well done. I never feel burdened having to go a different role because I get to keep using the guns I like to use.
I realize there are more cons than pros, but I think everything I haven't mentioned speaks as pros, with the cons being very few. Turret AI and Machine Guns definitely need some work, but if those things get addressed I really won't have anything to complain about, which would be fantastic since I like what Brink is doing.
Just a note, this is on the PC version.
