I recently purchased Fallout: New Vegas, and I am disappointed to find that I am unable to activate the game, and thus unable to even install it, due to problems on Steam's end. Every time I try to log in to Steam, I get an error message telling me that their network is busy. This has been going on since yesterday. I'm able to log in to the Steam website fine, so it's apparently not a problem with my account, but Steam has not responded to my problem ticket, and their self-help is of no use in resolving my problem. I am fairly certain the problem here is not with my computer or my internet connection, as I have previously been able to use Steam without a problem (I bought Fallout 3 through them) and haven't made any system changes since then, and I've tried several different internet connections (school, home, a friend's house), and while every other app works fine at all locations, I have the same problem with the Steam client.

I strongly encourage Bethesda not to use this kind of DRM scheme in the future, as it only punishes people like me who legitimately purchased the game. Right now, I have a fifty dollar coaster. I will not be purchasing any games in the future that require a third-party client like this, despite the fact that I have very much enjoyed Bethesda games in the past.

Unfortunately, the Steam servers often seem to have problems during major game launches. I guess the best thing to do is to wait until the game is a week old, by then it should have no problems whatsoever, but that doesn't really help those who wants to play it right away.

How would that help me log in to Steam? Can I even do that without logging in to Steam?




I'm thinking Skidrow is going to not only fix this problem for me, but prevent me from ever facing this problem with future Bethesda releases.

forget cracking it it crashes when chosing hardcoe mode. we just have to wait for steam to sort out ther steam cloud to fix this savegame / quicksaving issue then enjoy the game.
