Mostbstores that I have ever been to have had a policy on new games where if you have opened it you can only do an exchange for the same game or store credit if there is an issue. Well I have noticed at walmart, target,. Gamestop, bestbuy and a few other places that they are ammening their policies strictly for new vegas giving full refunds. Two stores I have been to have had notices on the front doors saying that they are accepting returns on new vegas. Goes to show how many people are truely disappointed in the quality of product when stores are changing their policy in regards to said product.

No surprise there. I played almost 17 hours without problems (not in a row:) ), but now the last 3 hours I've been having trouble with the game freezing all the time and I'm trying to do a tricky Vault quest that I can't finish because either the person I'm after dissappears or the game freezes. To me that means the game is unplayable.
Really enjoyed the game, but now I'm just pissed.

This is great news! Nobody should get away with releasing a severely flawed product to unsuspecting consumers. With that said, I have too much time invested in the game (50+ hours), so I'll try to muddle my way through. Oh, and I got mine at Gamestop--I doubt they'll give me a full refund.

Somethin tells me people are gonna get a refund and put it down on black ops instead... damn shame really, this is a nice game... if it weren't for all the bugs.

Just goes to show that even the gamestores now know had bad this game is.I say good on them its about time something was done about this excuse for a game.As for me mines going back tomorrow and they can stick it where the sun dont shine as far as i am concerned.

Maybe stores in your area aren't getting as many return customers, or maybe you didn't even ask.

I've returned my copy this morning. Amazon's return policy is amazing, 30 days no questions asked. All I said was that the game is glitchy and unplayable. I'll be using the money to pre-order COD. A game that I can actually play without it constantly breaking on me.

All this because Bethesda can't be arsed to release a statement stating whether they are fixing the freezing issues or not.

I may buy the game again, but not in the near future, it all depends on if they bother to fix the problems or not.

Are you seriously sticking by that statement, the fact you've actually came to the conclusion that you know release-date games are, at worst, broken testifies to how bad the industry has cut corners. FO 1,2, Tactics were near-perfect ( mine was perfect in my opinion ) and I got it soon as I could.

You are being horribly naive in advising that avoiding release-date games gives the solution, which is a given considering you have just compared a console game to a MMPORG. MMPORG has someone fixing bugs every second of the day, the release of an MMPORG game does not give the developers a brief window of relaxation but generates a massive hill of client-side problems which seperates the tenacity and robustness of MMPORG's to that of the console generation.

What world do you live in where Fallout 2 was "near-perfect" at launch, instead of an infamously buggy game? This isn't even something that can be argued about, you only have to look at the various patches release for it after launch to see the laundry list of bugs, minor and major, that were fixed after release.

Fallout 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but if you think its release wasn't marred by extremely serious bugs and problems, you're not remembering it very well or started playing long after the patches came out.
