9MM Pistol

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:07 pm

So, have anyone else noticed the absolutely ridiculous accuracy that the 9MM provides? I can snipe pretty much anything at any range with 2-3 shots, 1 shot if I'm lucky. As a long term sniper and Fallout 3 player, I'd say that it got better accuracy than the Sniper Rifle had in FO3.

It might be because I use the Four Eyes and Trigger Discipline traits, but still, take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6KbLOqrnrc

The Coyote was about 1.5mm wide on my 17" screen. The first 2 shots weren't aimed at it.

What is your gun skill?
I've found the 9 mil to be useful, but not particularly impressive - kind of like in reality. It's a useful sidearm with decent capacity and accuracy, but not tremendous power. Coyotes also go down with a single varmint rifle shot.

I was using a 9mm up in the hills North of GoodSprings. I was shooting at a Coyote and the 9mm took out the head of one of the horned beasts down in town. (I couldn't even see it from where I was). It's headless corpse still sits there gaping at me.

Wow i never hit anything that well using the 9mm and I have my gun skill tagged. Are you talking about the one you get from Doc Mitchell or the pre order one?

I think the 9mm pistol is an amazing weapon early on. I was able to take out most of the escaped convicts in Primm with it. And I get a crapload of ammo too.

I'm still early in, but I'm able to handle most things comfortably with the stock 9mm from Doc. No scope or extended mag, and I can crouch, aim up a shot, and get a 1-shot critical headshot about 80% of the time from a medium distance.

All guns seem to be like this. I get the same with the .357 magnum and 10mm.

I wish I woulda picked that trait now. I didn't wanna slow down the smgs tho. I guess the payoff woulda been cool. I def wouldn't have done the opposite one tho.

I found it to be a FANTASTIC weapon early on. It was definitely a go-to weapon for the first 8-10 levels. But later on (I'm level 15 now), when you start dealing with more baddies with higher DT values, it quickly becomes obsolete in favor of other guns. The only way I'd consider it overpowered is how insanely accurate it is at long ranges... you shouldn't be able to snipe with a handgun THAT accurately.
