The guys who did "Robert D. Anderson & The Legacy of Cthulhu" really worked their ass off to improve their developer skills and to improve the FPSC engine. A few days ago they finally announced and released the first pictures of "Anderson 2 - The Rise of R'lyeh" and it looks awesome for a FPSC game. Here are the first 2 screenshotshttp://www.homegrowngames.at/RiseofRyleh/cthulhuisrising.jpghttp://www.homegrowngames.at/RiseofRyleh/a2l1t3small.jpgAnd here is the first Artwork how R'lyeh will look in the gamehttp://www.homegrowngames.at/RiseofRyleh/rise_small.jpgAs one of the only persons here who was interrested in the first game and loved the first game I can't express enough how excited I am. The story of the first game was just awesome and now they continue their story and they finally have good graphics. Together with "Darkness Within 2 - The Dark Lineage" it seems that 2009 will be a good year for Cthulhu game fans.More informations coming soon!

That looks pretty good, and I agree that they have improved graphically judging by these screenshots.

I've begun playing the first Robert D. Anderson game today. I paid only the equivalent of 7 dollars, so it was quite cheap.Although I havent played it much yet, I am somewhat disappointed. I was looking forward to playing a Lovecraft-game made by Lovecraft-fans, but the parts of the game I've played so far, could just as well have been made by Wolfenstein-fans. Wandering about in hallways and rooms, shooting nazis. I dont particularly like the (to me) tricky and taxing jumps you need to make to advance in the game. You need to jump up on boxes, jump from there to balconies, jump from boxes onto pipes and from there to new balconies etc. I'm sorry, but making tricky jumps over and over again, to advance, is not Lovecraftian Horror to me. It's just frustrating. My biggest problems with the jumps is, that somehow you get the impression, that you've missed out on certain areas of the game, because you decided it was impossible to make jumps - thinking that you're not supposed to be able get up there anyway, but having doubts. Because doors are so frequently used as graphics-details instead of "real" doors leading you to new rooms, you always get that feeling that you're going to get stuck later on, because you didn't check doors that (if they were in fact real doors) could have led you to valuable items or information. Tiresome. So far (25 minutes in), I'd say that the only reason I should ever continue to play the game, would be that I'm very fond of Lovecraft and need the occational fix.
