Get over it... it happens maybe every 5 hours... It takes 3 minutes to restart a PS3.... And it only happens after an auto save.

Not a big deal.... Not to say that it does not need to be patched... OBSIDIAN!!!

fallout3 was my first fallout n i liked it but it lagged, this will b my last 1 because im not going support people that put half ass games on the market , like your game doesnt even go online and it lags WOW!!! People really need 2 keep it real with the developers instead of brown nosing , how will they get there jobs right if we dont let them now the problemss. all im saying is if your product isnt finished to a decent perfection then dont put it out, and freezing of my console is far from perfection. i go into ceaser camp ,FREEZE . five minutes lateer FREEZE . all over the MAP FREEZE!!!!!!!! FIX IT!!!

Im at 14 crashes. Today i tried something different. I tried waiting for it to come back. I left my PS3 on while the game was frozen. About 10 minutes later the game came back to life. However I must have been killed by something because it had loaded me back to a previous save. So the next time it crashes; wait a few minutes.

That is wrong. Often when I am out and walking the game will freeze. And somtimes it will happen when you enter a new area, but that is not so often. Not for me anyway. I had hoped they would fix this after the Fallout 3, but it seems I am mistaken. It's even worse, since on Fallout 3 the freezing didn't start before your save file got bigger than 6 MB. Now I have the same problem, when the save file is just above 3 MB.

Please fix this. It's annoying, and your company get's a real bad reputation because of this. Fallout is one of the best games out there in that genre story-wise, don't let this game be destroyed by these bugs.

all my Saves now freeze up with in 10 minutes of playing.......started out ok, but about 15 hours in it started to get bad.....now unplayable......even so, a freeze every now and then is still not a good....i have many other games that never freeze or crash.....this one is terrible, I will never buy from these people again.....an absolute pile of whale dung........i could drag my bare naked butt across 3000000 miles of broken glass and have more fun then playing this mess!!!!!!

Wow, you are lucky. Mine has never come back, I even let it stay on for 20 minutes. This must be fixed. I am so tired of this, that I won't buy another game from this company. Unless they see fit to fix the huge problems in this game.

It just froze twice on me right now after 30 minutes of playing. It froze 7 times in total and I'm not even close to beating the game. I don't mind the quest glitches or bugs, but when I have to get up and reset my system every time is getting really annoying. And when it doesn't freeze there is constant pausing/lagging when wandering the wasteland. I have a PS3 slim and all my other games don't freeze like this. What is the mandatory install and patch good for?

I didn't even buy New Vegas, but then I'm very sensitive to buggy games. For me the whole experience is ruined by random freezing, even when it doesn't freeze. Just knowing it can happen anytime is a killer of joy. I might buy the game when it hits the bargain bins.

I will criticize Bethesda every chance I get, and I recommend others do that as well. Their reputation should take a hit for all these bugs, especially the ones in FO3 since they remain years after its release.

Their lack of communication is also really bad. Can't they just acknowledge the freezing and say that they're working on it and give some sort of estimate where they are in the process?

The next level of neglect would be if they release a DLC while the original game is still freezing. That means they have been working on the DLC while a lot of people have paid for a game they can't play.

It is indeed very strange.... I have almost played for 60 hours now, and I've had only 2 freezes, and gameplay is actually smooth. I play with the internet connection off and I've turned off all autosave features. Also, I rarely use the pipboy radio. Maybe these things have something to do with it. But anyways, Obsidian should definitely release some more patches to fix the problems.

Bethesda can fix some of the problems, but not all of them though.
I heard that their working on a new game engine. They better make one that will work better on the ps3.

This [censored] really is unplayable. I'm only 20 minutes into the game and have had 2 freezes. I feel like I've been defrauded out of my money. I can't take the copy back so I'm stuck with it. They've got my money and they know it. I think a class action might make these developers listen. I don't know how the game got past game testing, it's beyond me. Must be the same software engineer that tested Fallout 3.

This working for me so far. I disabled the internet and it hasn't crashed yet, but gameplay still isn't smooth for me though. It still pauses occasionally when roaming and lags quite a bit. At least the freezing seems to be gone, so thank you for sharing this solution.

I also experience the occasional pause for a second or so, when running around in the wasteland. I think it's because the game is loading new areas. It doesn't really bother me though. The framerate is generally smooth. Some areas can cause some slight slowdown, but often it helps to save the game, quit to the main menu, and then loading the save again. I read a review which said that the game also suffers from screen tearing and excessive load times, but I haven't experienced these things either.
