Get with the customization Bethesda

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 3:44 am

That's right just what it says. I was thinking why can't we dye our armor. That should just be a given. More customization is always a plus in making the player feel more creative freedom thus MORE FREEDOM within the game world in general.

Get with the program Beth. Let me make ranger green hunters gear if I want. Or a hot pink thieves guild outfit to wear.

Sound off below fellow skyrimmers.....

And give us a skin tone wheel slider. The reguler, linear sliders for khajiits and Argonians skin tone just doesn't cut it.

Interesting idea, but I think only a select colour palette would work with the lore. I can't see hot pink or purple working, only really dyes from perhaps animals and ingredients. Like a deep red, or leafy green.

If we get skin tone sliders, I want our hair color sliders back, as well.

I want skin tone sliders and hair sliders. I want the option also to chnage your hair/beard. Also let us change our face paint and dirt levels, not all of our people will be dirty all the time.

Armor dyes would be good as long as we do not have anything outlandish like hot pink and lime green.

, not all of our people will be dirty all the time.

I actually was thinking about putting, down near the bottom of my mod wishlist/to do list having a "bath" mod for this specific purpose.

Dirt accumulates the more you sneak around in swampy ground, and bathing helps. Possibly having some sort of reaction bonus based upon being squeeky clean or penalty based upon smelling like someone who just carved his way out of a dragon's gullet.

Also, using the character creation menu again, today, I'd have to also say that there's really no reason not to have full RGB color sliders for just about any of these color options.

Eyes, for example, could also be full RGB, with an option for heterochromia so that you can make that one blind eye thing regardless of which color eye you want in the other. Tattoos and facepaint should also have little barring you from whatever color you want. The game already supports full RGB color selection, so there's no reason not to let the player have access to it.

I really just don't understand why a dye option wasn't added. :-/

Armor dye DLC: Tired of the same old armor color? Now you can select from one of six different amazing colors! Only $5.00!

On second thought... no. Leave Fable 3 style DLC out of my Skyrim. :flamethrower:

If they created a "Color accent" image on every piece of equipment... then any faction could wear any armor, and still be identifiable.

Would also give you the option of being identified, if desired, as part of one of the factions. (Not including your own personalization color.)

EG, generic default being "Brown" for leather accents. Drab for clothing. no-accents for armor... But joining the legion would auto-color two accents red and yellow on your armor, so you still look like legion armor, even if you don't wear true legion armor. (Or whatever colors they are.)

I want black armor as a sneak-thief...
I want camo-armor as a hunter/archer...
I want blue and yellow accents on my armor for my own color...

Pimp my armor!

Why not neon? Give that to your companion, so they are easier to avoid in battle... lol. (I give them anything enchanted, so they glow.)

Armor dye is fine, but please, no color sliders or mixers; I don't want to spend days making a character.

Part of Smithing should include dyes, personlized logos imprinted in the chest plate, jewels inserted into helmets, horns you looted attached to helmets etc. That would at least have made Smithing more than a powerplay skill.

I'd have to play a game where having the textures alterable by dying/etc didn't mean that they had to be simpler in some way, before I could weigh in on the subject. (Now, this may just mean I haven't played the right games) Right now it's not all that important to me.

But hair color sliders? Yes, please.

Like anything else, if you want to remain in the lore do so, but for the vast majority of gamers they really do not care and want as much customization as possible. Having the ability to make any color has no affect on gamers whose primary concern is lore and RPing.

Argh. I'd love that but, given the time I spent changing the color of my armor in ME2 and AC:Brotherhood, this would effectively add an extra 50 hours to my first playthrough.
