Depends on your resolution. My wife plays with very similar specs and gets good fps, but she plays at 1440x900. I would recommend http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9957

why do you recommend that mad at nexus?

The one on nexus is optimized for better performance and has lower resolution options if you run into overload on your VRAM with the one from Bethesda.

EDIT: Not OPTIMIZED, just reduced textures (don't want that confused).

I run the high-res texture pack (along with about 12gb of retexture mods) with no problem or stutter at 60fps with the following config: Core i7 860 2.8Ghz, 12GB DDR3 ram, AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB and a conventional 1TB 7200rpm HDD, 1440x900 resolution with a 19'' monitor. So much depends on what resolution you'll be playing at.. so it would be nice if you said so.

I don't see why everyone is saying 1gb of VRAM is bad... I use the high-res pack no problems on my 1gb HD6850.

For the DLC, you might want to use that http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8236 as well. :)

Depends. :D

They're texture replacers; so everything that can go wrong is you seeing texture A instead of B.

If you use no other texture mod, it doesn't matter in any way where they are. If your other replacers affect only textures not touched by the DLC, it doesn't matter, either. (I don't know of a simple way to check that, currently.)
If you use some replacer for some textures also affected by the DLC and want to see these instead of the DLC, the DLC should load before that other mod.

So essentially: They're very generic replacers which you might want to override in some areas at some time. As such, they're best placed rather early in your load order. Where exactly, matters only in relation to other texture replacers.

You should use BOSS to arrange your load order if you're unsure. In fact, you should be using it anyway!
