A True Vampire Overhaul

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 5:38 am

So with the ever encroaching dlc on the way I am almost certain new vampire mechanics will be added in the DLC. This brought my interest up for being a vampire. Recently I've been looking up how the vanilla system works and also the top three Vampire mods out there and I got to say I'm pretty disappointed...

With that being said I started to brainstorm what would be a more efficient system when it comes to how the stages work (stages are pretty much the heart of being a vampire) this is what I came up with.

The more time you feed the more stages you become. So if you feed 50 times you become stage 2, 100 times you will be stage 3, 150 you will be stage 4 (those numbers are examples to display the concept). Then a way to reset to stage one, once player is stage 4 if they dont feed for a certain number of times they downgrade but dont die because they are strong enough to survive without blood but still get weaker. I like this system because I feel like the more you feed the more you become a vampire and engulfed in that lifestyle. The player is required to feed at least once a week to kind of balance it and keep that vampire feeling but also postpone becoming a higher stage.

Also I think their are powers that can be given to vampires that is very unique and possible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aZ52XaE3ZI&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LL2Y5sDy1zoS9w7WjSV2Yv8A- The ability to teleport behind the target for a stealth kill.

Vampiric Mist- Makes the player take the form of fog, NPC's view the player as invisible. Good for evading situations or for stealth. For balancing purposes this ability should last only a few seconds.

Shapeshift- Become a wolf, Swarm of bats, etc.

Obviously everyone wont agree with some specific things. Do not focus on the specifics but the concept and tell me what you think. I will add to this thread when new ideas come to mind. Feel free to add your ideas too, but if you do add a great idea I will add it into this post so if you dont feel comfortable with that for whatever reason dont post your idea.

You may be interested in a mod thats a WIP known as http://forum.4drulers.com/index.php?/topic/12880-wip-unholy-darkness-for-skyrim/. The creator is known as Mad Mole here on the Beth forums and his mod was pretty awesome in Oblivion. Now he is going to push it further in Skyrim. He just recently got a "blood pool" system working that with the use of vampire abilities will force you into the next stage of hunger. Feeding of course lowers you hunger level. He has many other feature that are either working or being worked on. All i can say is when it releases it will be the ONLY vampire and werewolf overhaul that i need.

Good to hear that you will not need this mod, so from now on you won't comment on ths thread.

@4Skyrim, eagerly waiting to see the outcome, and those features seem really interesting. :goodjob:
