CF Fixed?

Well as price drops are happening on GPUs, is CF performance worth it?

I'm currently running a MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II, shader unlock, and running at 900/1325. ( haven't tried going higher, thinking I'll up volts and go for lightning speeds of 940). Also a 2500k at 4.2 (auto oc) till I get time to work on an oc.

I currently get mid 50s to high 120s for frame rate. Is crossfire worth it. I love 120fps on my 120hz monitor, just so fluid. I won't have enough CPU to maintain 120. As I drop down to 60-70-80fps sometimes with less than full gpu load. I guess I'm wondering if it's worth the $250 upgrade.

I will do texture packs, when a nice full pack comes out like Quarl's. So some extra hp there might help.

The more you load the game up, the lower your framerate will get. From past experience, Beth games just don't scale well on multi-GPU solutions. (nor CPU's for that matter....) I don't think the cost justifies the miniscule performance blip you may, or may not.... get. Some folks have actually seen framerates go DOWN on a multi-GPU setup.

Once GOOD card is all this game really needs, not to mention that's about all it can really take advantage of.

No it's not worth the upgrade... don't do it... you'll be royally unhappy if you end up like me experiencing mostly negative scaling with crossfire enabled....

Just make sure you have a 2gb vram.. and the game will mostly sit pretty at any resolution well above 30fps provided with a 6900 series gpu...

Yeah I'm running 1080, and good frame rates, more never hurts, I just thought maybe with texture packs I'd take a hit and have to lower my Max settings

For skyrim, no. For other games, yes.

Hmm, that's too bad. I'd love a steady 120fps, but I dont think the game is optimized enough, and I don't think my CPU is fast enough. 2500k @4.2 right now.
