Ok I may get the pc version

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 7:58 am

I have pretty much given up on the ps3 version ever getting fixed so I'm thinking about installling the pc version. The problem is I don't have a lot of space on my main laptop and plan to use a big chunk of it for Star Wars The Old Republic so my only option right now would be installing it on my old laptop. How well would it run (if it all) on a Duo Core 2 (2.63ghz) with 4 gb memory and a GeForce 9600M GS (1 gb mem)

And exactly how buggy IS the pc version? Does it have a frame rate issue or anything serious?

That things still beats a console's abilities so better then you've seen the game so far ;) Just don't try stuff like anti-aliasing or anything but low-end shadows and you'll probably be just fine.

i dont know how good the 9600M series is, but I'm playing mostly fine on a core2duo 2.4ghz with 6gb ram and a 550ti.get the occasional framerate drop, but other than that it's really stable, and the addition of mods makes it more than worth it.

btw, you know Skyrim is only like 5-6gb right?

Well, the 9600 plays most games without any trouble but it struggled back when I turned the graphics on high for Arkham Asylum especially during the fight scenes with like 8 people on screen. And yeah, the harddive on my main laptop only has around 30 gb left and SWTOR will probably take up anywhere between 12-20 gb spo i already have to delete some stuff. :pinch:

You could probably get away with 2xAA, the shadows really are the biggest slayer of GPUs it seems among the settings.

And there is FXAA, which is much less demanding yet effective anti-aliasing.

Yeah that was what i usually used for most games. I honestly don't notice a drastic difference between 2x and the higher settings even on my main laptop.

Blasphemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOR will be the greatest game ever made! But sometimes i like to have a good single player game to play when I get tired of dealing with other people. Hmmm, interesting link. I have never heard of that before so maybe I'll try it.

pfft TOR is WoW in space :P Guild Wars 2 will be the far better MMO, but I think even that's not going to be quite as fun as Skyrim :D

that SMAA works with other games, too, so you can try it out before you get Skyrim.

Well laptops svck for gaming but anyway, I didn't really get much bugs to be honest. Only bad performances.

TOR will be the same as WoW, ans you have to pay for it. Guild wars 2 is free to play and as a way better quest system, so, well svck it up :P

Well with the posted specs of your laptop..it's not going to perform great..(but I have nothing to back that up).

Also, how do you have time for Skyrim AND SW:TOR? Wow.

I don't know if a 9600 would run this game so well. The rest of the specs seem fine. I guess only to way to know is to try it unless a 9600 user can chime in.

I realize that this game runs well on lesser video cards but isn't the 9600 from 2006 or so?
