[REQ] Sonic Screwdriver

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 5:58 pm

I've tried importing the mesh from Fallout 3 for my own use into Skyrim as a staff, it didn't work and it just drags as a large model on the floor instead of being in my hand, it'd be great if someone either helped me with the problem or makes me one.

Basicly just that, in staff form.

Just a FYI, but importing things from Fallout or Oblivion, into Skyrim, is forbidden. edit: just to clarify, things taken from mods for Fallout or Oblivion (or other mods from other beth games), I believe is totally ok. As long as you have the mod maker's permission. (Though, for personal use, and no re-distributing, I think it'd be fine either way. could be wrong)

More on topic; If you have experience with a 3d program, and all that, you could try importing the mesh of the Screwdriver, and just copying its data on to an already existing Skyrim weapon, that is similar (such as a staff.) I would guess that would work. But I'm not sure how much you know about all this :\

Heh, ok ... well, it sounds from what you describe that it's not scaled or positioned properly.
Do you have pics? Also a pic in nifskope? Hard to troubleshoot just by reading.

Hmm, did you start off with a 1stperson staff model, add the screwdriver tristrip over top to position it? Did you update tangent space after making adjustments?

I started with the staff model, dunno about the other two.

EDIT: Tangent space updated. Will see how it's affected. Gah, no change, same old mess.
