How Tough Bosses

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 3:04 pm

In a dungeon designed for end-game/high level characters, how difficult would you like the bosses to be? Should a sub-level 30 be able to do it with some trouble, or should you need to be closer to 40?
Do you think it should only be easy if you have overpowered, or at least near overpowered, enchantments etc?

Please share all thoughts you have concerning this :P

Just make Bosses 5 levels higher than player level and have them wearing fully enchanted gear and wielding enchanted weapons that are marked as unplayable.

Yes,I've thought about this.. but I don't like the idea of an enemy's level scaling. I like them to be static for my mods!

Yes, this is sort of what I had in mind. Only thing is, it's difficult. At first, I thought the boss was really easy.. until I realized that my character had PLENTY of fortify health and resist magic enchantments. So I removed those.. and I died :P

Lol yeah that happens

Just If you keep it Static like that then My Recommendation is to make it 35+ and then tailor it in tiers Maybe. Make it so they are hard without buffs but Not overly so to scare away others. Its a delicate balance but once you get it going then it will be easy to tweak here and there.
