enchanting oddity

Ok so I've been powerleveling my smithing and chanting by crafting up some leather helms and then enchanting them and then selling them for profits and I noticed that as my enchanting skill increased the value of the enchanted item decreases even though its the same enchantment and more powerful...

wth is up with that? Shouldn't it be worth more since the enchantment is more powerful?

Are you using a smaller soul gem to craft it?

Yep. It happens. I've seen it as well-- with iron daggers-- and I can't figure out why it does it.

They actually go down in price as you make more of them.
