Oh thanks guys, that was easier than I thought. Last time i checked the compass tuner, it was, well... a compass tuner ^^ --> glad it now does maps too!
You asked why? The reason is indeed immersion. I use a paper map where I make my own notes about discovered locations. I also use a handwritten journal with all the game info I need. Just seems more fun and I suppose old school to me. I also use the following, in case you're interested:
- Obviously quest markers off and modded better quest objectives on
- Compass entirely off...navigate by geography, immersive HUD
- No fast travel except carriages
- Master difficulty sine lvl 1 with just about every difficulty mod you can imagine (deadly combat, duel combat, DD, hardcoe + rebalanced, PISE)
- Very gymped ench and smith other than tents or wine skins and survival things
- Heavy environment immersion (dark URWL with Mike Fox dark dungeons, heavy rain + snow, EDWS, Frostfall, Imps)
- Just about every decent enemy pack you can imagine (wars, skyrim live, occupy skyrim, moar, etc etc)
- And many many more mods, all running beautifully together
I play a sneak thief, dual wield + arrows + illusion. My goal is to tweak the game so that I can use every possible means to surive. I hate self imposed rules or restrictions, therefore I also want the map locations gone.
Being a long time RPG player, I can tell you that these mods turn Skyrim into an incredible journey of survival and challenge. If anyone is interested in my mod list, please let me know and I'll post.
Thanks for your help!
