bypassing a quest

so the quest where you take over fort sungard for the stormcloaks, well i went there and the objective meet the soldiers just went off i never found the soldiers tho, i walked into the fort and its deserted, inside outside nothing, so is there a cheat or a way to get the objective to be fulfilled or finish this one portion of the quest so i can finish the game?

Well, if it's really bugged and there is no way you can complete it, you can use the console to advance the quest.
The thing is you need to know the quest ID, and the wiki doesn't have the ID for this one. However I think that it can be possible to find it.
Type in the console "ShowQuestTargets" without quotes. Now, you possibly have a lot of quests in your journal, so use PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN to scroll in the console and search for something that says Current quest and a quest that starts with "CW" When you find it, type in the console "sqt questID" without quotes, and write here what it says. We'll see where we go from here.

So i cant find CW or sungard but i guess the list would appear in the order of the quests you have right? If so then this quest is called under
current quest "freeformwhiterunquest04" idk what whiterun has to do with this quest it also says
Target 1: reference: (ff0015c9), load door: (0001a6fb)
Idk if this is the right one at all tho
Btw: the name of the quest is battle for fort sungard, its part of liberation of skyrim i hope this is enoughfor you to help me

Hmmm, I don't think they show up in order...and I don't think that is your quest.
If you type in the console "sqt freeformwhiterunquest04" what doest it say? <-- this command will give you the quest name and the objectives that you have exactly like they show up in your journal.

You did scroll in the console, right? with page up/page down?....I really don't know how to help you otherwise, unless someone knows the quest ID for this quest, that's all you really need.
As a last resort, and if you don't have a modified .ini file/no mods, you can give me your save and I could see what I can do with the console.

Well, sorry. I hope it's not the code that I gave you that did that. I'f I'll play the stormcloaks and I'll get to that part, I'll look up the ID and if you still need help I'll PM you.

I actually just came to to ask about the same problem with the same quest, hoping to find a quest id. I'll try your suggestions with my game.
