I returned to the mage college after becoming arch mage and wandering around some. Upon return, I was informed that an anomaly had broken out (near the mine) and I needed to use my staff to quell it. So I traveled there, did the quelling. My journal updated saying to return to Tolfin (sp? I'm not near the game now) at the college to tell him that the anomaly is now closed.

I returned to the college, found the arrow pointed at Tolfin's head but my dialog with him didn't advance or close this quest. There was no entry for me to tell him that the anomaly was closed or for him to acknowledge that it was. Am I missing a step here? What's supposed to happen? TIA

if the quest log says talk to him, try scrolling down through all of his conversation topics. he is one npc that has quite a few topics to discuss.

Maybe I didn't scroll properly. If so, it'd be my second time I made that error. I also replayed a Companion's Quest because I didn't see the trigger which was scrolled. I'll try that when I'm at the game next. Thanks.
