Hey Ive been enjoying playing Skyrim, jumping around seeing all the cool new stuff, such as jobs, better interaction then BOOM, I now realise i have no effects coming from my spells, like when i used Clairvoyance, there is no trail, (very unusable at this stage lol) and flames spell showing no flames, and of course the invisible spiderwebs, that confused me for while.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I have searched around and found two possible fixes for this.

Other people have reported that installing the latest drivers for their graphics card fixed the problem. I have also read that using windows update for this won't get the latest, go to manufacturers website.

Secondly I have seen it reported that reducing all draw distances might fix this. Once it is fixed you can put the draw distance back up to whatever you had them set at before.

I have a RADEON HD 2400 series card, same problem, my drivers are updated (via ATI's website and Steam, not via windows update) my draw distances are permanently minimized thanks to my low end card. STILL no effects. I don't mind on things like my spells, but not being able to see things in my way, or Clairvoyance's suggestion of which way to go is killing me. I'm a patient man, but at this point the game isn't even enjoyable. I've been stuck at level 10 because everything not being visible has made the game less than enjoyable for me since the first or second week the game was released. While my roommate has already sunk 180 hours into this game, I can barely play it. I feel my money was completely wasted at this point. I need to know if there's hope around the bend, or if Bethesda just thinks that making spells no longer function still qualifies as a functioning enough game to make the minimum requirements for a game so low that they cause certain spells not to function.

For the Former, I heard that worked too but i think that only related to the Nvidea desktop cards, since im using a laptop.... well we know how that goes
