I'm sorry to start a new topic, but i've failed to find any information regarding this subject, at least in this forum.

I bought and installed the game through Steam, and i cannot start the game, it keeps giving me a critical error saying somethings wrong about this file:
X3DAudio1_7.dll.

I've tried every solution i've found on the internet, from installing directx several times, new drivers, changing the sound to dvd quality, getting the dll in some weird dark torrent place, etc. but nothing has worked...

My pc has 4 gig memory, and a 9500 nvidia gt, so it shouldnt be a hardware problem, can anyone help me?

This is a problem with direct x, and only direct x. You're better off sticking to google to find a solution, or the windows 7 forums.

Google hasnt been much of a help, i've tried the first 20 solutions that appeared there.....

I was helping someone on here with the same problem a while ago, and couldn't find a solution that worked, apart from the dreaded FORMAT

Read my PM. Also, have you tried installing http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35? That provides a few DirectX 9 files that you probably don't have.
