Menu lag when savingloading

Sometimes there's lag when hitting esc and trying to save or load - the mouse hangs. Doesn't happen all the time. Wonder if this is from Steam? I have no other problems with the game.

My PC isn't top-of-the-line, but no slouch either:
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
Intel Core i7 940
3g OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Platinum Low-Voltage Triple Channel
XFX Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition 1G O.C.
Thermaltake Black Widow 850w
Windows 7 32x

In the game options is Save on Menu I think. Turn that off and see if it helps mate.

By the way, nice card ;)

No Save on Menu, just save on Rest, Wait and Travel (all unchecked). Only 'save on character' is checked and is set on 15 mins. Is that what you meant?

By the way, nice card

Yeah, I do like the card - cool and quiet. :)

Hi,

I Have this same little issue, the problem goes worst as the number of save files (and their size) grows.
It happens, in my case, only at the first save/load after the run (Continue from main screen is obviously excluded). I think it's somehow connected with save file tiny screenshot.

I've made a backup subfolder in my games/skyrim/saves and I'm moving there older saves... this helps a little.

There is a line in SkyrimPrefs.ini, it reads bSaveOnPause=1. Set it to 0 and see if that helps :)
