Night Eye is Awesome in Skyrim

I gotta say I love the new Night Eye effect. Black and white, like infrared type vision; makes everything clear and easy to see in the dark. As a Khajit power, it is not only infinitely available, but it is finally a toggle without the need for mods.

However there are still two things about it that could be better:

1) Why is it only 60 seconds at a time? It can be used as many times per day as you want, and can be toggled on and off. Why not just make it last forever until it's toggled off? That way we don't need to worry about it wearing off; especially since there are no HUD notifications for effect durations.

2) There really isn't much need for Night Eye. The dungeons are even brighter than they were in Oblivion. I'm just to lucky we have a great modding community here and we already have (several) fix(es) for those of us who don't like bright dungeons.

Yeah i installed some shaders yesterday and noticed a huge difference. Sometimes it can be easy to miss a chest if you don't look close enough (or happen to have a torch, magelight etc that finally do something).

I agree with both statments.

Yeah the dungeons should generally be much darker imo. It's a good opportunity for a mod.

Mhm. Morrowind and Oblivion both had mods to fix lighting issues. Don't get why they never got the hint. We want our torches to be useful!

how about the fact that i cant find the bloody spell anywhere in the game... is the luxury of not having to go to options and turn the brightness up really such a rare and valuable ability?
