Skyrim Non-steam install: problem with updates & scriptd

well i bought skyrim at a store so i have the disks but i don't know if its just me or are alot of people who bought the disks for skyrim having trouble getting the updates?

and i've also recieved this error today trying to run skyrim.
scriptdragon critical error
can't create ScriptDragon.log
its the first time i've gotten this error.
Skyrim version: 1.0

There is no such thing as a legal version of Skyrim that doesn't tie you to Steam. The software for steam is still on the disk. It sounds as though you have one or more corrupted files and need to run the file integrity checker in the Steam menu.
