I read about alot of players who want to roleplay a good character , but dont want to miss out on TG and DB quest content, and dont have time or dont want to play multiple characters. The way Im doing it is this: I made a backstory for my Nord, Thor Blackfoot, where he was a thief who had botched a high stakes swipe job and had to kill a high profile noble in order to escape with his life, needless to say, he was a very wanted man, so he fled to Cyrodil for a while to lay low, but he started to miss home and decides to come back home just in time to get captured by Imperials.. as the game starts. So what I did is instead of going straight to Riverwood after the opening scene/dragon attack, I went stright to Riften to hide among thiefs and resumed my life of crime, then on to the DB.. After doing do much "wrong" with the TG and DB, My character cant handle all the evil doing anymore and decides to start a new life. So I abandon Riften and go see my friend Ralof in Riverwood, who had offered help before, to set up a new life for myself.. Of course, then I get asked to deliver a message to the Jarl of Whiterun, where I decide to settle down and start anew, where nobody knows me and my dark past.. Worked for me.. without guilt, except the guilt my character felt before he started doing "good" Hope this helps somebody.
Very nice workaround.
Sadly few of the Good Guys take the roleplaying part as far as you.
In my honest opinion, when playing the 'good' role, there simply are quests you have to skip, just as there are quests a bad role has to skip.
linging to your moral values, but wanting the content/rewards the 'unbefitting' questlines have to offer,is a bad case of Completionism, wich seems to be highly contagious and spreading on these pages like the Plague.
If i want to cover all content in the game,i do so in multiple playthroughs.
I do think that Skyrim has more than enough to offer to please a decent gamer for quite some time.
IMO the 'steamroll gamers' who play out a game a single time then throw it aside should stay away from Skyrim.
If i see a single person returning a secondhand copy of Skyrim within at least the remainder of 2011 i will beat the crap out of them.
