Roleplaying the "Bad" quests with a "Good" c

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 5:13 pm

I read about alot of players who want to roleplay a good character , but dont want to miss out on TG and DB quest content, and dont have time or dont want to play multiple characters. The way Im doing it is this: I made a backstory for my Nord, Thor Blackfoot, where he was a thief who had botched a high stakes swipe job and had to kill a high profile noble in order to escape with his life, needless to say, he was a very wanted man, so he fled to Cyrodil for a while to lay low, but he started to miss home and decides to come back home just in time to get captured by Imperials.. as the game starts. So what I did is instead of going straight to Riverwood after the opening scene/dragon attack, I went stright to Riften to hide among thiefs and resumed my life of crime, then on to the DB.. After doing do much "wrong" with the TG and DB, My character cant handle all the evil doing anymore and decides to start a new life. So I abandon Riften and go see my friend Ralof in Riverwood, who had offered help before, to set up a new life for myself.. Of course, then I get asked to deliver a message to the Jarl of Whiterun, where I decide to settle down and start anew, where nobody knows me and my dark past.. Worked for me.. without guilt, except the guilt my character felt before he started doing "good" Hope this helps somebody.

Very nice workaround.
Sadly few of the Good Guys take the roleplaying part as far as you.
In my honest opinion, when playing the 'good' role, there simply are quests you have to skip, just as there are quests a bad role has to skip.
linging to your moral values, but wanting the content/rewards the 'unbefitting' questlines have to offer,is a bad case of Completionism, wich seems to be highly contagious and spreading on these pages like the Plague.

If i want to cover all content in the game,i do so in multiple playthroughs.
I do think that Skyrim has more than enough to offer to please a decent gamer for quite some time.
IMO the 'steamroll gamers' who play out a game a single time then throw it aside should stay away from Skyrim.
If i see a single person returning a secondhand copy of Skyrim within at least the remainder of 2011 i will beat the crap out of them.

In order for the greater good of all the evil artifacts of the Daedric lords must be recovered by any means necessary to save many a few must be lost on the way. That is the burden carried by the Lord Bishop of Solitude. Life is areas of grey and yes in times of war you must have acceptable losses even if it means my very soul to free skyrim form all ill.......

Yeah. A Nordic name for a Nord, right? Is that weird?
I actually know TWO guys named Thor in real life...

This is exactly what I did in Oblivion. The Knights of the Nine pilgrimage was particularly helpful, but I'm a little annoyed that in Skyrim, some DB quests automatically give you a bounty regardless of how careful you were.

Very similar to this.

Tamriel is a world of gods and powerful forces, a wise hero will work within these forces for the greater good. I am dragon born, uniquely gifted and with true power to change the world. I will do whatever it takes, mastering the arts of thievery and death too if I have to. The DB is now working for me, the Thieves are working for me, I possess all of Tamriel's greatest artifacts. One day the Daedric princes shall feel my wrath and my evil actions will be redeemed in the greater spins of history.
