Bizarre Glitch (Video attached)

I'll start by saying that I have a doesn't-meet-minimum-requirements video card that is, more than likely, causing this problem. (I posted a topic about that about a week ago), but I still think this is pretty interesting.

It occurs when I return the Forgemaster's Fingers to the chief of one of the orc fortresses. Even though I have been accepted as blood-kin, my disposition with the other NPC's remains the same. I'm attacked right in the middle of being told that I will no longer be attacked!

Yeah, that's because you're "trespassing" and even though you're talking to the dude, the other NPCs are warning you to leave. They all went aggro before you finished your conversation with the chief guy. Sort've like how you can get attacked and killed while stuck in a conversation with someone.

Yea, definitely the case. The question is: How am I supposed to hand over the item without being attacked?

You gotta wait until the guy's outside during the day, I think.

I ran into the same problem. Soon as I walk into the Longhouse some she-[censored] orc starts giving me lip. The chief seems interested in the Forgemaster's Fingers at first but end up getting in my face as well. Next thing you know there's a bunch of dead orcs. CFx's idea about waiting outside until daylight may have worked but I just can't see myself waiting around on a frakkin Orc. Not sure what reprocusions might come from not finishing the quest but I've still got the Forgemaster's Fingers which will come in handy forging some Daedric armor once I get the Ebony ore from the Gloombound mine. Wonder if I'll net to kill some more orcs.
