Daedric Armor lag issues

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:16 pm

I have been able to run this game perfectly fine, up until I equip Daedric Armor and start walking around. My framerate seems to drop/stutter like crazy.

I have no idea what is causing this issue other than the fact that I have Daedric Armor with no enchantments equipped, It is not unplayable, but it is quite annoying. Can any please help me with this issue.

Spec as follows:
OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom? II X4 955 3.2 GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB DDR3
Edit: Drivers are up to date

P.S. - I Searched everywhere to see if anyone else was having this issue, it seems no one else is experiencing it or it has never been reported.

I decided to test something, I gave my Daedric armor to my companion and took my Dragonplate armor back. Equipped the Dragonplate armor, and no lag issue, whilst the companion was wearing the Daedric armor and walking around. I then reswapped the armor again, still have the issue while having the Daedric armor equipped on me. This is quite annoying.

Another thing I forgot to mention, while looking up fixes for framerate drops, I came across Skyboost, which works with everything other than my current issue...

Running on a 6970 and am working my smithing to max for heavy armor so when I get some Daedric Armor I will let you know if the same happens for me.

Could try just installing 'any' daedric armor mod that switches up the mesh & textures for something else, just to see if its specifically those that are the culprit. Fraid I haven't ever gotten any daedric armor in any of my games yet so haven't been able to personally verify it.

So, I guess there is no fix for this issue. Well thanks for trying guys. Looks like I will have to bite off somewhere around 100 Armor points and just play with Dragonplate.

If anyone has any suggestions besides modding/changing the armor, please let me know. Thanks.
