Leaving behind companions?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:23 pm

I've found ED-E but i don't feel like using him now, i want to just leave him behind at a safe place like doc mitchell's house. can i expect it to stay there forever, or will it eventually disappear, anyone know?

sorry, if a mod comes along, i ask that they move it to the appropriate forum section. i didn't think it's a real spoiler since nobody that hasn't played the game yet knows what the hell i'm talking about. i'll be more careful in the future.

in the mean time, can somebody answer the question please?

Whether or not it was posted in the right spot, I can see you were mildly desperate for an answer. I have one. The answer is.... *drum roll* Yes. You can ask that he stays, and he'll stay there. Although, I suggest leaving him indoors in a non hostile environment. He can still be killed (I found this out the hard way) Just go back and check on him periodically. Unless you fire him, then he will go back to where you found him.

Then if you decide to leave a companion somewhere safe, will you still have the companions perk?

To clarify, if i were to leave 'depart' from Boone, I would be able to find him later at the T-Rex statue, and be able to enlist his help again?

I'm not sure about this. I had a companion and told them to stay. Then I took off and wandered around for a few days. I went into a location and had a brown trouser moment when the location loaded and that companion was standing in front of me.
