I have Aela as a follower roleplaying as hunters, I entered command mode "I need you to do something" and sent her after an elk, my character remained behind with the dog and waited, Aela returned after a few minutes, but now she is stuck in command mode even when I tell her "We must part ways"; she heads off back to Whiterun but the command mode is still active, I cannot even get on the horse becasuse it's an attack command, I cannot enter Whiterun because it's waiting for Aela to open the gates.

Anyway to deactivate the follower command function?

Oh yeah, forgot to add, skjor is very much alive in jorrvaskr despite being killed the quest.

TESVAL accelerator

I'm having this exact same problem, except my person that was following me opened a door and went inside but I can't follow him because I can't open doors due to command mode. Did you find out how to fix this?
