“My follower lead me to a waste land...”

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 5:46 pm

Errr..Here I come again..

After the moderator locked my first topic, I asked the guy who ran into this problem, again.I'm sure it's not a hoax.

Here is the whole story.
In another forum, there is a player who asked his follower to "wait here",then he did a fast travel. But when he came back, his follower was no longer there. To seek his follower,he use the console, transported him to the location where his follower stays.
Then he found himself in a room, and his follower seems being trapped here.He can talk to the follower, but everything he given to the follower are lost.
This room is like a "cross",and there are black "entrances" on each end.He would be throw back to the centre of this "cross" if he across these "entrances".He tried to order his follower enter one of these entrances, but she disappeared .
Near by the centre, there are many NPC's corpses who were killed by him before,he can recognize one of them. And there are two coffins in this room which terrified him,it's like they were prepared for the player and his follower....

I know it's sounds incredible,we used to doubt him too,but then he show us the pictures of this..
Maybe he could simply kill his follower and get out(he can do fast travel from the room, but his follower wouldn't follow him out ),but for me..I‘m curious about the room itself...

Pictures are here

looks like some sort of test area almost like the testinghall in oblivion. some weird glitch sent the follower there. just kill the follower, fast travel somewhere and get a new one and hope it doesn't happen again.

I suspect that this is where NPC's who fall into the void go.
In Oblivion they were teleported to coordinate zero, zero, which was the Tiber Septim hotel and could cause some hilarious scenes.

This is a hoax story. Its just the test room with some NPC's spawned using the console and someone made up a story to go with it.

Nothing to see here peeps, pointless thread.

I like the whole 'two coffins which terrified him, like they were prepared for him and his follower' touch. Very cute. But I call BS on that story. I appreciate it and it's entertaining, and I always like creepy little things like that, but it makes no logical sense.

You can spawn pretty much whatever you want with the command console, including things like coffins or pieces of cells.

That is NOT the testing cell. And thats random crap he generated with console.
Idk about the room itself but its prob something random he found while he was fiddling with the console.

Honestly lame story is lame and full of BS.

Just because it's not TestingHall doesn't mean it's not a test cell.

In Oblivion there were 80 of them.

It could be where "lost" NPC's get sent to. In oblivion instead of being sent to a holding cell they were sent to the Tiber Septim Hotel in the imperial city. Plenty of times I've walked into that place and found a minotaur or something in the lobby xD

Jesus, instead of actually going out and testing these things yourselves you all just jump to the conclusion that its all a bunch of bullsheisse...
well while I can't say anything about how the man GOT there, I can say this place is real.
The bodies are not crap he randomly spawned, this is the real set up of the place.
The Cell is called WIDeadBodyCleanupCell as seen referenced here http://puu.sh/9AjS.png
There was one not dead person here for me, and it wasn't a follower.
I've done the thalmor related quests for
Spoiler
the blades
and after killing the assassin that the wood elf was worried about, outside of windhelm, the wood elf says he's going to leave skyrim.... and I found him here. http://puu.sh/9AkF.png
Also interesting, I found that I could find a certain general's dead body here again after the civil war (I was on the stormcloaks side) and his body has his armor in its inventory, even though I got it when I first killed him.
All of the bodies are naked, but they have their normal items in their inventories, it seems.
one more shot for proof
http://puu.sh/9Al5.png
Now, like I said, I don't know how the person that originally posted this got here, but since the items that were given to the follower were missing I can only assume that either the follower died or this is also where they're sent when they "leave your service" because they get tired of waiting.
It is not [censored], it's definitely possible, and I'd even say plausible because I can't find Lydia after I told her to wait somewhere.. that was awhile ago though and I dont see her body/actor here.

one more thing, the 'doorways' lead to nothing, if you fall out you have to teleport because i don't think there's a floor at all.

I tested it out to the best of my abilities, but my companion never vanished after telling her to wait and fast traveling and resting all over the place, and I have no idea how you found this yourself.

However, http://i39.tinypic.com/w9wdx5.jpg

I, too, had Malborn standing there. It's incredibly odd that all the corpses are naked though. Why does that happen? Why doesn't their armor and inventory go with them if they all get dumped there?

the Help command does wonders :P
first I tried the obvious, Help Test 0
a number of interesting cells came up that I teleported to, but none of them matched... So I decided to assume the man was telling the truth and search 'dead' instead
Help dead 0 should give an output similar to the one in my first screenshot. er, if you hit the page up key to that position anyway.
As for why they're all naked... I can only assume that during testing they may have been coming here randomly and checking the dead bodies to see if they came here or not... perhaps they strip them of all their equipment to make the cell quicker/easier to load.
The items are in their inventories though (well, oddly there was one person i saw that was empty, but the name didnt ring a bell) so that's the only thing i can think of.

So..the place is real, but the method how he got there is doubtful...

Could it be a glitch or something that occured rarely?I mean when his follower vanished while waiting. But it's just my guess...

I have been here before (and posted about it before too). It's where some dead NPCs go. When I was doing the DB quest with the option to kill Nilsine Shatter Shield, I couldn't find her anywhere. There was no quest arrow. So I used the console command to bring me to her, and her dead body was in this room, along with numerous others (Roggvir, General Tullius, Grelod the Kind, etc). And strangely enough, Malborn in his underwear, still standing up alive.

I don't believe followers go there though, except maybe as a glitch. I tested to see if maybe his follower died and ended up there by doing the player.moveto with Lydia's base ID (she's dead in my game), but no, it just transported me to the place of her death but there's no corpse there.
