Best Followers By Level

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 5:45 am

Hi all - I'm looking for a list of the best Followers to have by level. From what I understand, they don't level up with you, nor do they get more health, so eventually you and the story line grow out of them and it's time to move on to the next. Is this accurate? And if so, does anyone have any good recommendations by level? Maybe start with Level 25? thanks in advance, as always.

They don't? Thought they all scale to your stats. (not 100% sure)

And there's no best follower, just give them like 2 staffs of chain lightning, they will own stuff before you can soul trap mobs.

I heard their level depends on when you meet them.
E.G. If you meet them at level 21, their level will be considerable lower than if you meet them at level 51

Exactly. And from what I understand, they stay that level that they were and eventually start getting pwned by everything. So it must matter which Followers to use depending on your level. And btw, does "when you meet them" mean when you first speak with them ever, or when you first take them on or hire them?

Sorry mate, I have no idea, I'm completely clueless on the matter.

But I'll just suggest wait until level 40 before getting companions :P

I take it to mean whenever you can start asking them to follow, but I'm not certain. If your on PC, a quick disable then enable will put them back at your level.

pretty sure it's when you first enter the zone that they're in, you don't even have to look at them, kinda screwed up if you ask me. If you're on PC I believe if you open the console, click on the person, type "disable" (without quotations), then enter, and then click again and do "enable" it should reset them to your current level, keeping inventory intact. haven't tested it myself though so you might want to save your game first.

Haha, I know, one of my favorite movies too! And so many good lines.

"Are you the Judean People's Front?"
"[censored] off, Judean People's Front...we're the People's Front of Judea!"

Awesome ideas guys... I'll try it! Thanks!

BTW, I think the three sectors are:
The Front of People's Judea
The Judean People's Front
People's Front of Judea

Weird if Lydia's still low level how the hell is she tanking Ancient Dragons on master??? She is still ripping faces off and handling her own in a fight and I am 64 in new dungeons. If ahe was what level 12 like when I got her wouldn't she be one shot by everything lol.

i decided to start over partly because of that and this time around i'm using someone i don't like a lot till level 25, then i'll head to the mages headquarters since i like to use the mages there at the college, i think level should make em plenty tough for the rest of the game, its easy to get a ring and necklace anyway to boost there health by 100...but yeah my major follower from now on i won't go in their area till at least level 25.

Be very glad you never ran into my glitch of pain... and i didn't Realise it was a glitch til 10 levels later.
doing the Purity quests in the wrong order seems to be why the game refuses to let me have a Follower now. Or finish either.

that is lame. They should continue to level WITH you. I should be able to have the same follower the entire game and each follower should be unique enough. Too many of them specialize in the same crap. We need better Followers.

i′m lvl 31 and i had 3 or 4 companions beause in hard fighting times they die. at first it was lydia, then was it a mage of the academy. after him the woman from the inn in whitewalk. actually i have faendal from riverwalk on my side. with epic elf-hammer a better orc-shield and a epic steel-armor. if you give your follower good items for himself to fight and not only to carry for you, they are very usefull.

Can someone confirm what a "zone" is?

Ie, when do their levels get locked? Housecarls are what i have in mind mainly, would it mean the level gets locked when entering the jarls place since that's where i believe housecarls hang out prior to becoming a thane..?

i think the idea that they stop to lvl up is stupid. they are always helper in front or behind you and not your privat army to kill everything alone what would kill you. fight with them together give them a good armor and weapons and you will see that they do their best.
