Hi i was just wondering, do mods make it unable to get achievements in skyrim ?

Like to mod to abandon a quest ?
Or will it only disable some achievemnts ?
Please reply soon on this since i got a problem atm that may be solved by a mod, but i don't wanna lose the ability to get achievements in the game.

I have been following some of the achievement discussions, and while I don't have a solid answer, *most* mods should not do that, *but* people are still arguing over what you can do and still have achievements.

I don't get them at all because the Steam Overlay crashes my game, so I had to turn it off. Someone else said they still got achievements, I think they were confusing offline mode with the overlay.

People are still arguing over whether console commands disable achievements. The only way to be sure is try it and find out.

It would help if you posted the name of the *specific* mod.

All I can provide is my personal experience.

I don't use Steam Overlay.
I play in Online mode but I've played in Offline mode as well.
I have used the console several times.

I get achievements.

Play in offline mode all the time. Have used console here and there, namely to just spawn things and watch, but I never saved afterwards. Got most of my achievements. Aside from the few I have yet to actually try to get, was the first thieves guild one (that I should have), even though I got darkness returns. Haven't become the guildmaster yet because my save was getting out of hand with crashes so I'm gonna have to start over. I've had some late achievements too, but only in the sense they show up on steam days or a week after getting them. I play with lots of mods too, well about 20 that tweak things and add items.
