[Bug?] - I can't storegive items with button R anymore.

Hi.

After having a [censored]load of trouble with Skyrim on PS3 I decided to abandon that ship and start playing on PC.

Everything seemed fine, and worked flawless, until I built a new computer, installed Skyrim and placed my save games.

Now I have one problem. I can't store items in chests and I can't give items to companions, which should be done with button R, since I have not changed the controllers.

Nothing happens when I press the button. The bind to R works fine when it comes to sheathing weapon or dropping items. I just can't give/store items. W...t...f...

I would be thrilled to see if anyone has a solution to this. I am deeply sorry if there are threads about this - I tried searching, but the threads I found that had even the slightest connection to this were either really outdated or has expanded into several pages long debates about all sorts of things.

Now... I'm thinking of reinstalling Skyrim, to see if that helps. This problem couldn't be connected to my actual save games could it? Because that would svck mighty balls. (then I would have to start over Skyrim for the 2:nd time)

I tried removing a file called 'ControlMap_Custom' but no difference, and a new file was not created when I started Skyrim. Don't really know what it's for, just something I read in some thread.

Thanks in advance, please save me.

ye i had the same problem at 1 point.

the onlt way i could fix it was reload the backed up files i saved from the day1 patch

im guessing u didnt have the opportunity to do the same so i cant really help ya.

but ye id say re install the game or revert to an older restore point, you may have to ditch the old savegame

but wateva u do when u get the game working again copy the entire skyrim folder and archive it somewhere, it has saved my ass sooo many times

no matter what platform u get this game its buggy as fuk, but definitely best on PC!

I reinstalled it - works fine without any patches.

As soon I as I installed Patch 4. It stopped working.

Hm. Guess I'll stay with unpatched game then. Any big losses? (as I said, I come from the PS3 platform)

Seems to be mostly performance issues right?
