Has anyone had this problem? I hope there's a fix because this is TERRIBLE.

I'm working through the Silver Hand quests for the companions. Earlier today, I went into Jorvaskr to speak w/ Aela and right in the middle of the conversation Vilkas ran up, sword out and interrupted (like guards can do if they're after you for a bounty). Weird thing though is I can dismiss the dialog, but he buts in immediately again, saying the same stupid questions over and over and over and over... Worse, he's FOLLOWING me, and if I try to Fast Travel away I get the warning "You can't fast travel when guards are after you" . (??????) And he even interrupts me in the middle of combat! He followed me out of Whiterun and chased me across the fields, and every time I was in combat he'd freeeze me with more dumb-%$@ questions until I dismissed the dialog.

It's maddening... MADDENING!!!

Figuring I had a glitched quest I finished the one assigned to me (the one where you have to kill all the witches in the cave and return to the leader of the Companions). When I got back to Jorvaskr, the Silver Hand had already been there and had attacked. Vilkas is REALLY broken now (probably because he's set to detach your follower and go with you to attack the SIlver Hand), but all he'll do is repeat "Now we'll make them pay... Now we'll make them pay... Now we'll make them pay... Now we'll make them pay..." AAAARGH!!!

I can't even kill the little %$#@! because he must have his flag set - believe me, I'd do it in a heartbeat at this point, simply to shut him the ^%$# up!

Is there some sort of console command I can use to reset his AI or something? I'd just "KILL" him or some other console destruct-o command but I wonder if I'll hose my quests if I do. Maybe "TAI" to disable his AI (which should freeze him in place)? That's get me free of him but I can't get my companion back until he's off me, right?

FOLLOW-UP:

"TAI" froze him in place alright, but I can't re-hire my follower (my "playersetfollower" count must be stuck at "1"). Does anyone know what will happen if I do the quest (which is obviously scripted to be done with Vilkas with me) after I set "set playerfollowercount 0" and re-hire my follower? I suppose if it refuses to complete I can ALSO force-complete it via the console as well.

Elder Scrolls games... Guess they wouldn't quite be the same without all the bugs, huh? =P Sigh...

I remember reading somewhere that this happens if you have any unresolved bounties (even ones from other holds). Check your statistics to make sure you're in the clear.
