1.4 for Russia

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 7:30 pm

I am quite curious what's going to happen to russian version of skyrim. As you probably know in Russia the publisher is 1C company, which is not rather good. They tend to release patches late after the actual release date. Sometimes they don't release patches at all or somehow fill it with new bugs etc. For instance, those who live in Russia can't buy Bethesda's game over STEAM eversince it supports russian rubles which I never cared for. I would love to pay more for games but be able to receive them on Steam as well as DLCs. Anyway, back to the patch. Can somebody who knows answer me?

What have 1C said about it?

1.4 isn't out in the rest of the world yet.

Yes, I know. 1C has been quite. It doesn't really have to inform us xD. But once the patch is out it might take them weeks to release it.

I might be mistaken but even though you can't BUY it from steam in various locations like Russia or Baltic nations you still MUST activate and run steam to play.. So, agian I can't verify for sure but I would assume it would still use steam for patches.. Meaning you shouldn'dt have to worry about it.. You can't even download the patches anywhere legitamately outside of steam. :)

This question should be asked on a publisher in question forum.

If your English is pretty good, why don't you get an English version?

Because it's region locked and won't let him play the US/UK/AUS/ETC version it with a Russian IP

Really? I may change a language in game settings in Steam. I may play an English version or other European versions (and Russian to, because I bought it). What is "region locked"?

P.S. Russian version is not available for purchase in other regions and it need a special "cd key" for activation in Steam.

Buy the key from a international e-store and type the code into your steam account and it should work..
that way, you are not buying the game on steam, but rather buying the game.. FOR steam ;)

As far as I've noticed, patches came out 1-2 days later that the official release, which is not a big deal. Bought game at version 1.0 (that was 3rd day after the release), now at 1.3.4 and had no probs with patch downloads so far. Game updates via steam on startup, just as it's supposed to be. The only thing that may take time, is if 1C will need to translate some content. In that case, yes, that might take about a week or so.

1C it's joke for support bethesda games...like skyrim, fallout 3, fallout new vegas.
I remember 1C fallout new vegas version when patches arrive via steam after 3-4 MONTHS after world release....I don't even talk about DLC.
All my posts about this DELETED from official russian forum. 1C completely don't care about users/people.... :bolt:

Just to clarify for those who don't have a clue. Even if I use steam in english, which I do, the patches still come from 1C. Russian translations are horrific. It does not, I repeat DOES NOT matter where you get your code. If you activate it with russian IP then say "Hello, 1C!" The worst thing is not only they may change contents of the patches but they may also delay it for months, this is unacceptable. If there was a way to get english v patches or buy dlcs off steam I would be pleased, so please I would pay the same price for the game as english people, no matter how crappy our economy is. I just hope I won't get screwed.

First, sorry for my bad english.

Nah.. that seams a bit weird.. imagine somebody goin on vacation to Moscow to see the crazy castle they got there, and decides to take his/her gaming laptop with them to game at the evenings, what are Russia gonna do about it, stop people from playing? now thats [censored].

You could however, try use https://hiload.org which [censored]s up your proxy server
i think 'pirates have a certain bay' (cant write the real name for some reason.. even though you can download legal stuff :s).. anywayas they have a IP-changing software, its not pirated or anything, its provided by them to whatever internet user you are for a small fee.
https://www.ipredator.se/
____
Take note Modertators: i do not support piracy..its a legal software program they share with all internet users for a small fee, its not ilegal at all.
+ Dont be silly with the urlname, even though they got a reputation for doin ilegal stuff does not mean everything on the site is.
I've used it in the past to upload school projects I HAVE DONE. so i can later download it in school.

Unfortunately, I've seen some topics on steam discussing how stupid it is that those who live in UK for example can't access their games in Moscow or something like that. Either way I am not paying for the game twice. If that's their plan 1st to fool me into buying a russian version and then english version then I'd rather not play it at all. Although, the game is very good and I really hope you ( yes you BETHESDA) will make 1C to patch SKYRIM properly. ELSE I'll keep making ARROW IN THE KNEE jokes xDD

The point is: is shouldn't try to do anything for a product that I legitimately bought. I wasn't the one who decided to pay the russian price for it. I wish Todd Howard read these forums. But he is probably to busy working on DLCs. Well Todd if by any chance you see this feel free to comment ^^. Afterall I can't buy the dlcs :P and you probably don't like that, now do you? From Skyrim with love, or should I say Russia.
P.S. I bet Russia is somewhat a big part of those who buy TES.
