Skyrim Miscellaneous Quests Bugs

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 6:18 am

Hi all,

When I do the quests to hunt down a dragon, giant or bandit leaders, 90% of the time the quest will be a dud. I can't view the quest location via the map and even if I go to the place where the target is located there will be nothing there or just a white arrow pointing at the floor.

Will this be fixed anytime soon? The quests are optional but I still like doing them. I'm just a bit tired of having to constanly use setstage on them.

Thanks.

i've currently got ALMOST 200 hours logged on my game file.. sitting at about 19mb in file size... and i think i've also got about 12 misc quests that cannot be completed or aborted. Some i have completed but it refused to acknowledge it.... and using setstage to force complete or proceed doesn't work either.

The game is pretty bad in the quest realms when dealing with journal entries or just acknowledging that it should do something.. either spawn the intended target.... show the arrow in the right place.... or show the quest as failed so we aren't left ripping our hair out.

The most annoying quest bug i got was one that involved entering through a door.... it showed the door and to enter it.. but once inside.... it should the door i just walked through saying i needed to go outside...... it's like the quest required me to go between the "door"..... it doesn't know where to go and no.... it wasn't because i have overlapping quests.. it's the same quest which didn't have a real target and somehow managed to get stuck pointing to the same door and to go both ways through it.

Thing is it's just misc. quests, the worst questline I've had is the Companions, christ that took a lot of loads, console commands and patience to do.

Can't they just add in a spawned giant/dragon/bandit when we accept the quests? I know zip about programming games but how hard can it be? Isn't the work already done? I spawned Farkas next to me in the broken Companion questline (didn't help but done it, reloaded a save). Even if a dragon etc. I've already killed respawns, idc, better than an arrow to the floor!

Ps. 19 mb per save? I heard that if you knock things over your save file increases in size, that true?

can't say for certain.. i just know that the file size does seem to change and i can't determine why...

one save was 19,513kb...... then an hour later after progressing further, i checked and it was down to 18,789kb...

seems to be floating....
