Making a dragon go away

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 8:28 pm

Main quest done, Alduin dealt with but dragons are still more prolific that ever.

Is there a console command that makes dragons fly away or disappear?

I cannot wait for a MOD that disable random dragon encounters after the MQ is over...

"The new cliff racers?" Oh come on, they're not that annoying!

138 Hours into the game, and they're really annoying to me.
They're way too common, everytime I go to a settlement, BAM! Dragon attack.
They're just too easy, no fun in fighting them.
And the reward is rubbish.

When I come back home, I'll try by opening the console, move the console pointer on them to get the ID and then using disable. it works with corpses and NPC, it should work on dragons too. The problem is that if a dragon flies too high, getting an ID would be difficult.

Use tcl to get closer, it toggles clipping so you can fly up

Worse than cliffracers, unless cliffracers now breathe fire and just do bombing runs over towns, sometimes dragonrend dosent make them land :/

Someone on skyrimnexus posted the following:

Using the Console Command:

set MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons to 1

Seems to work...

Haven't tested it but for that guy that seems to have made the random dragons disappear.

Or maybe wait till they strafe low, disable the AI so everybody is frozen in place, and get close enough to disable them. At this point I don't care about the loot they carry nor the experience lost by not fighting them. I just wish them to go away FOREVER. At least Oblivion gates stopped to spawn once Dagon was banished. It feels all my efforts to do the MQ were for nothing... :(

I always like hitting them with dragon rend once they choose to land.
Then hammer them with anything handy be it spell or weapon.

The shout always becoms available before te spell effect on the dragon wears off too, for me.
Depending on how one played, there may still be many words of power out there too.
